What % do you guys think this might be?

Need to get cracking on tinting my car as summer is just around the corner!!!

min 35% maybe 40/50. It all depends on the sun angle.. Sometimes my tint looks like 5%, but in sun it looks 35% and flat light its 20%

This thread is a little out of date. Anyone recently had Hüper Optik installed?
I have my appt set next Friday (4/6) and torn between 30/40/50 in Ceramic.

I'll probably go 40%, but it'll be a game-time decision I guess.

I just did 40% Huper Optik in Carbon. Absolutely love it. If I can remember I'll post a pic when I get home. Not too light, not too dark, looks just right on my car.

Got 35% all around on my car. That's the lowest state laws allow. :(

Here is 35% all around, nothing on the front windshield of course. :)

Legal shmegal - tell them to stop taking our freedoms away if they pull you over... in no way does light tint harm anyone. (That probably will not work with an officer)

35% non-ceramic all around, BB w/Beige interior.
Late morning sun, tint appears lighter:


9 AM sun, tint appears darker:

California: No tint permitted on windhield except 4" strip across top, 70% only permitted on driver/front passenger windows - been busted once, on the lam again

I had Huper Optik 40% on a couple of cars and I thought it was too light. One other thing to keep in mind is the a lot of installers don't do the rear window in Huper Optic. The reason I'm told is it's to hard to work because it is so thick.

35% front and back I went a little lighter then I usually do (20%) due to the fact that not only my interior is black but so is my headliner (ti package)

I see a lot of people going with Huper Optik Ceramic...why not their Stark or Drei products? From what I've read, I thought those are better products in terms of keeping out the heat.

I don't know. Maybe some dealers don't carry it? Mine only carries Ceramic. Here's the breakdown for the HO products:
Product: VLT SER VLR UVR
Klasse:
SECH 59% 54% 8% 99%
DREI 35% 70% 12% 99%
Ceramic:
40 - 42% 55% 9% 99%
30 - 34% 61% 11% 99%

VLT: Visible Light Transmittance
SER: Solar Energy Rejection
VLR: Visible Light Reflected
UVR: UV Rejection

I got my car tinted on Friday @ Sun-Pro in Winchester, VA. Dave was very helpful in finding a nice balance between Privacy, Heat Reduction and Legal. I got the Ceramic 40 (42%) which including the existing OEM 'tint' should keep me on this side of Legal.

I just got my windows tinted last Friday...

I ended up going with 20% ceramic... (Anything lower and I would be asking for a ticket - even though I could technically get one now).
It is pretty dark, but I think it looks perfect... Definitely keeps the car cooler in the hot Miami sun

Hey everyone, this is my first post here after lurking for weeks. I picked up my A4 less than a month ago and the only mod I've had time to do is tint! I think 35% would look great on a BB car. I kept it legal @ 42% to mostly keep the wife happy.

50% LumarCTX all around, with 80% on the windshield. It appears darker than it is a lot of time. I like it, and think it's very OEM+. I never want to be hassled - and with 50% on both my Avants - never have been.

I originally did not have the fromt windows tinted, but then decided I need a little bit up front. I went with 35% thinking it would be on the lighter side. I was happy that it blended well with the 20% rears, but now I am kind of sketched out rolling around town thinking Johnny Law will get me. But so far they seem to look no further than a white station wagon coming at them, obeying all traffic laws of course!

As soon as I order my wheels I'll get some spacers too! And to anyone wondering, I have yet to be pulled over for tints on this car or my last one. Maybe the laws in Canada aren't as strict?

Just had it done yesterday, Huper Drei by Huper Optik in 30%. Can't roll windows down yet and bubbles take about a week to come out. Paid $499.

Well all I know is dealership wanted $750 and it was 3M, not Huper Optik. Depends a lot on the brand.

I got quoted $549 for the Huper Optik Drei which I'm going to end up doing. There is only one place in AZ that does it so you either pay or get something else.

I know it's expensive but you only do tint once so in the big scheme of things, what's another $300 over normal tint, especially since I plan on keeping my car 6-7 years.

Here's 40% Huper Optik Xtreme carbon tint. Keep in mind...my ENTIRE interior is black. Seats, trim, dash, dash surround, headliner so everything looks darker. Paid $195 with $20 coupon. Same guys did my 3M clearbra too.

Was going to wash, wax and take some good pics this coming weekend, but here is a teaser iPhone pic of my Avant with 35% SunTek CXP fronts and 25% everything else. it's also not as dark as it looks since it's the all black S Line interior. Will soon get better shots with it clean and less reflections.

Hi Jason a little off topic but I was curious about your wheels. Are they stock wheels? Or did you powder coat your oem silver ones? Looking good btw!

Thanks, the only powder coating is from 3 weeks of brake dust without a wash :-) They're just the stock 19" S Line wheels. Impressed how they do turn an even gunmetal though, at least in pics.

They did same thing with cutting around my rear brake light... I'm still not sure what I think about it. It definitely is cutting corners... However, I paid a third of what you did, so you definitely have the right to request a fix.
How hard is it to remove the rear brake light?

Oh, I'm not upset about them cutting around it...I'm upset that it's jagged on the left side and smooth on the right. Am I being too anal?

In direct sunlight, 30% (I have 35% but pretty much the same thing) and I was surprised myself how light it looks.
