    Smile What's A Fair Discount For 2010 S4?

    Hey Guys,

Ordered an 2010 Ibis White S4 (S-Tronic, Navi, B/O) last month and just got word that the car is in Factory Order Bank. Never negotiated a price from dealer, and I think it's about time I work it out with him.

I ordered the car thru the assistant sales manager, who happens to be a friend of my girlfriend's and was also referred to him by several of my close friends. I was wondering what will be a fair discount off MSRP to ask for?

I don't wish to penny pinch and grind him for every cent. I understand he has to make his money too, but would like a fair price so that I come off feeling like I got somewhat of a deal.

After all options the car's MSRP is 65,695 CAD

Thanks for your helps guys. Very much appreciated

Don't expect a lot off if any. Like anything else, there are very little discounts on new models.

With the demand, there will be very little room for movement.

Ditto.. You agreed to the MSRP by ordering the car. You might get some room for negotiation because of the special connection through your girlfriend, but don't expect a lot as it's a brand new model.

Premium model is ~58k. There are other options such as the expensive drive select with quattro sport diff (4k), navi pkg (3.2k) BO sound system (1.1k), rear side airbags, etc... Oh, the metallic/pearl effect paint is now optional on S4's.

Edit: premium model comes with 19" rims, advanced key, silk nappa leather, rear parking sensors, adaptive headlights, etc..

Sorry, I just did a quick copy and paste last night, that price is with freight and pdi included. Price is as follows:

    Automatic/S-Tronic 58,800
    +Navigation 3500
    +Bang & Olufsen Sound 1100
    +PDI/Freight 2295
    MSRP: 65,695

When I ordered the car and wanted to negotiate pricing, the dealer said he did not have the full figures from Audi yet (Cost of S-Tronic, Lease Rates, Residuals). He told me once he had all the numbers, then we could go over the pricing and in the mean time, we should put the car on order first.

From what you guys are telling me right now, I guess any discount would be considered a deal at this time? I'll post back and see what he agrees to. Thanks for the help guys

    Re: What's A Fair Discount For 2010 S4?

Just a quick update guys. Since most of you explained to me that it might already be too late to ask for a discount, I just threw out 2% off MSRP to my dealer, and he accepted. In fact, he seemed to accept it quite readily which leads me to think I definitely could've asked for more. However, I'm quite happy with what I got, and now I will have to endure the waiting game till my car arrives. Thanks for the advice guys.

cool. $1200 off sounds pretty good to me. What's a few bucks here or there at this level

p.s. this is the ONLY Ibis white S4 I've heard of on here...funny because Ibis is the most (or second most) popular A4 colour according to the poll I did

2% is not bad for a factory order car, especially it is a S4 we dont even see on the street yet. Usually I don't discount factory order cars unless the guy is nice~~ LOL

sticker price is a good discount!!! I imagine alot of dealers will have a premium on these things for the first 6 months.

    I know for the A3 & A4's the markup is 8%. I don't know about the S4, I would assume its similar.

well, considering the timing, I think that's (un)fortunately not the case.

Economy is still shitsauce mcgraw, and only going to get worse over the coming months/quarters/years.

I cannot imagine any dealer put a premium on any cars. I work for MB dealer as sales and we never put a premium on any cars. We dont discount on any AMGs unless its a repeating customer.

But like I said 2% is not bad at all. Congrats!
