    Red face Lovin' Stage 3!

I went all in on it. F AOA ...have techs that will get around it for me on the inside of dealers...hehehe...

    APR stage 3
APR FULL turbo back down pipe/hfc single side exhaust
    AWE fmic
    Upgraded DV
    Eurotuning IC pipe
    AWE DV pipe

www.athansmotors.com did the install in one day for all of it!

    www.grdperformance.com did the ecu flash.

The car has an amazing pull....very little lag and k04 pulls in any gear at 2200 rpm. Very smooth and constant in each gear. Love the fart too of the exhaust at shift on loads...

I have a 2010 A4...looks totally stock except for the exhaust tips and a slight look at the awe fmic through the grill...SLEEPER! Thinking of painting the fmic an off black to match the radiator so it hides a little.

I also have gotten good mpg on highway of 37mpg doing a constant 60mph. But can't always stay that way... Around town in stop light to stop light using boost I am getting a respectable 21mpg when I am on it a ton. Nice normal pulls from stop lights and average 45mph routes for some time I am getting 25-27mpg. Have about 10k on car and stage 3 for the past 3k.

    Don't regret it one bit...came out of a stage 3 B5!

why the upgraded DV? ......the B8 DV piston design is far better than the previous generations and therefore doesn't have the same diaphragm failure.

Dion has been super-awesome to me so far. How much did he charge on the labor for that installation?

i remember it was dirt cheap like they stay. i think it was around $300 max for the installl... and i think it includes the exhaust install as well .and he gave me his pontiac beater for the day since my baby is a daily driver. Dion is the man... he still waiting for the full turbo-back and the apr/carbonio intake for me.

because unfortunately its a gimmick and performs worse than the OEM valve.

When the OEM started using Electronic DV's, the aftermarket was unable to match the performance as all aftermarket valves are vacuum actuated. Simply put, electricity moves way faster than air so the dv opens and closes more quickly when requested to do so. This is usually referred to as "response". Aftermarket valves do not "respond" as quickly as the OEM.

When the first OEM electronic DV was introduced, they were still failure prone at higher boost pressures so the aftermarket DV's still had some value, durability. So, you would trade "response" for "durability".

Now, however, the OEM electronic DV's have been revised to be as durable or more durable than aftermarket ones and are more responsive. So, the OEM wins hands down.

I once drove 800km on a single tank of hwy driving only. so 64l tank, 800km that equates to roughly 29.69MPG

One can't possibly comment on one loan mod when so many were done at once.

The ICP produces next to no power in relation to everything, and i mean literally every other power mod available on the market, that he installed at once.

Next Hwy trip i will snap a camera shot of the screen...this morning I got 29mpg on my 12 mile stop and go 45 mph suburb drive from lake Zurich to Lincolnshire on route 22...to get 37 I have to stay at 60mph and be a grandpa in the right lane behind trucks and coast down hills in Chicago suburbs....normal 70 mph-75mph driving I get 31-32mpg...

Really could not say for absolute certainty...since I did it all at once but it does respond much faster now at 2200 and the second gear corners are amazing at 2k rpm with WOT pulling out of them...

Correct but after looking at the box that was on the pipe that came out and the new pipe that went in is a huge difference in flow...visually that is...

The car is simply amazing to me vs stock... I am also coming from a stage 3 b5. But driving so much that the 15 mpg I was getting was just not working for me...so a stage 3 a4 with the new size and nav is very nice to put 2k miles on each month in my new sales job.

    Correct.

If you are only interested in what gains in performance the ICP offered alone, there are plenty of threads with user reviews after just upgrading this one part.

I would but it's ultimately your decision, you sound happy with everything and a delay in dv response won't really hurt anything.

I wish I could have let you know before you spent the money though.

I too am a bit of a victim to the hype here, as I switched early on to an AWE DV thinking it'd be better than the electrical stock, but I'd be interested in switching things back. Unfortunately I don't have the original.

As a result I have 2 questions. 1 - Is there a somewhere I can buy another B8 2010 at a reasonable price. And 2, how difficult is it to do this conversion back as a DIY?

6 mt and 2009 tip or multi tronic a4s only have 6 gears and is near impossible to get 37 mpg, now if he has the 2010 tip or multi then he has 8 gears and can def get 37-42 mpg.
