I wouldn't suggest you use the audi as your guinea pig to learn how to install. Honestly, your best bet is to take it to a shop that's familiar with your car.

its not extremely difficult, i ran 0ga through the grommet for the hood release cable, then tapped the factory amp for low level inputs into my amp. You should be able to do the rest, if you dont then i would suggest you take it to a shop. A small error can damage equipment and even cause a fire if not done properly.

Qestion are you going to be replaceing yoru stock radio and your stock speakers. If you do, I would recomand of getting new radio and new speakers and 4ch chanel amp. If you really dont know what you are doing, i would recomand ask someone that knows or take it to a shop.
I had a big system in my golf, and trust me you have to be very carefull with all the hot wires. also you dont need 0 gague for your system. thats only if you going extream crazy loud. 4 gauge should be good enugh to keep your system bumpin. another thing are the subs 4ohm or 2ohm, dual voice coil subs. Can your amp handle 1ohm stable hook up??? if you dont know anything about that. i would suggest have the shop install or a friend that know what they are doing!
    just a thought :)
