Got LED? B7 Headlight LED V3

I've seen a few people do this LED strip and I've always wonder why no one puts each bulb in a rectangle opening that is silver/reflective to give a better light spread versus the tiny circle cut out in black which will make the LED look like a dot from a distance. If you look how Audi does it you'll see what I mean, it disperses the light better into a wider light look. My thoughts anyway/

Easy to say...more difficult to realize...unless you buy from China and loose your OEM headlight quality

What? Did he knew what he was doing? Looking at the current that the LED are drawing, there is NO WAY to burn another component

The other side has been installed yesterday. However, it keeps raining like crazy in South Florida. Got busy this past WE: Checked 2 cam follower, one of a Fellow Ziner and mine, convert a set of Xenons for a Customer, upgrade my driver side with the V3.

I did a little more to my driver side headlight as well: Clear cap and swapped the glass lens to the Euro type (no more line on the glass). Still have to do the same to the Left one now

Good job on the project v2 and v3..looks clean

For some reason, I prefer the one on the right..im assuming thats v2. v3 seems too bright and out of place..i like the strip rather than individual led's. but thats just my opinion and it seems like im in the minority with that preference. any plans on making the v2 still?

No, I do not longer build the V2
As previously said, it's really difficult to take good pictures of LEDs in general, even if I play with different exposures. You have to beleive me on this one, if you see the V3 in person (and some fellow Ziner already did), they are much nicer.

the only turn off for me is the space between the leds.. I prefer a more uniform, almost '1 piece' look.. if you know what I mean

was this one of the adjustments from the V2 (spacing them out) or am I wrong?

Well,

Because I wanted to have all the LEd pointing forward and since the profile is a curve line (outside shape of the headlight), the more it's curved, the more they look close to each other but if you develop the spacing on a flat sheet of paper, there are spaced evenly.

Oh I get that, I understand the varying angles of the curved lense make some appear closer together than others. I suppose I'm finding a preference for the version where all the LEDs were closer together, all-around. But with the power of the V3's, this would probably make for a seriously OVER-bright end result though, right? Or jack the price up? (it would mean an additional 5-6 LEDs, per lamp)

During the proto phase, I did try with 14 LED"s down to 7, but 9 was the best outcome.
