VAG Coding for Tip Paddles - Help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just completed the s-line MFSW +tip swap for my 3-spoke MFSW non-tip. The wheel looks great. Took me a while to track down the right airbag, but finally was able to locate what I needed.

I have the tip auto trans, but I now need help with VAG-COM to enable the paddle shifters on the wheel. BTW I own the $20 VAG-COM cable w/ 409.1 VAG-COM SW.

I found this information to turn enable the paddles by coding in the auto-trans module.

    000?0xx: Tiptronic/Paddels

    0 - not installed
    1 - installed

    000x0?x: Dynamic Shift Program (DSP)

    0 - active
    1 - inactive

    000x0x?: Country/Drivetrain

    1 - Rest of World (RoW) / All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)
    2 - North America (NAR) / All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)
    3 - Rest of World (RoW) / Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD)
    4 - North America (NAR) / Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD)

I tried to access module 2 (Auto Trans) and get a failure (cannot find the module.) I can access other modules, but not this one. Am I doing something wrong? Is this module not accessable with the simple $20 VAG-COM cable/SW? Is this the only way to enable the paddles on the MFSW?

I also notice that there is a module for the steering wheel. I can access this module with my VAG-COM. I've searched and cannot find any information on the coding for this module. Does anyone know if the paddles can be enabled here? IF so, what is the coding to enable them? Any other way to do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated... would love to get the tip paddles working... the main reason I am doing this mod. Thanks!

Re: VAG Coding for Tip Paddles - Help

Well, finally found a quick reference in another thread... so here it is...

    VAG-COM Coding:
    Steering Wheel Module
    0??X??
X = 1 for tip paddles on the MFSW (assuming the wheel has the paddles)

Hope someone else finds this information helpful. It was not easy to find!

think you might need full version to access that module, not sure.

you have the right code though.

you may be right... I can access the steering wheel module with the trial version. What I might need to access the auto trans module is the can-bus cable.
