I can't seem to be able to finish the project.
There is always some small or large issue to sort out, before it pops out again...it is getting ridiculous.
Seems like the car wants me to leave it alone in the garage…

I have, for the 4 time, another oil leak from a different location.
Boost is still rising uncontrollable and although it feels awesome, it was be contented. Maybe I got a faulty Tial MVS since I fixed it briefly …
I tried to dyno-tune it but couldn’t because of that. Of course the popping silicone hose at the throttle didn’t help either but I got that sorted ...I was only able to dyno it up to 5500 rpm with the boost control (out of the Adaptronic 1280) off (1 bar springs in the 2 tials) and I got 390whp on a Mustang Dyno. I am not sure on what pressure that was but the Adaptronic 1280 (excellent ecu) was setup with a boost cut at 1.5bar. Of course I had a misfire issue.
I have a vacuum leak and my idle is high. I had to change the coils because I was getting misfires all the time.

The good news is that the Comp Ct43 CT3B billet spools really good for its size. I get full boost by 4400-4500 rpm (3 gear) and with the redline at 8000 rpm I get a good power band. Keep in mind that’s it’s a big , 1250hp , turbo and I am running ported 2.8 heads, oversize valves and 2.8 intake cams (for now). Spool is like a typical BT on a 1.8T 20v/2.0tfsi, and to me ,its impressive.

Also if anyone cares the 3.5 decat downpipe + 2x 3 inch is LOUD. Really loud. On the up side, the sound of the engine is beautiful. I get everyone scared, even dogs… :)

The game plan now is to get the car to a skillful and patient car mechanic so that he can iron out the bugs asap. I really need to tune the car before the 11th . We have a Audi club meeting and I want to take part with my car after 3 years.

Well...after a lot of troubleshooting and a lot of help from forum member here ( julex , bobsaver, ilyafil, jibberjive, especialy Andy from Adaptronic and others that helped thank you so much for your help),I was able to solve the weird misfire issue. it turned out to be, lick most similar cases, a silly little think. The map sensor was placed on the runner .It was picking up the intake pulse, screwing up the readings, causing a sudden enrichment and change in ignition timing , that cause the issue...
I was able to push the car after that .
Were is Dyno run of a 500whp run...

    http://s76.photobucket.com/user/Pani...e343c.mp4.html

I had Vp Motorsport 109 and Q16 racing fuel to play with. I used only the q16. I added +2 deg of ignition (added a fuel trim value because the q16 was a lamda of 13.35) and the car gain instantly gain 80whp on the same boost.... Q16 rocks.......
I has able to take it to 750whp before the clutch broke...... Funny think is that I didnt even had the chance to take on the road to test it (2 friends took it to test the lunch of the car since we wanted to enter it to a drag event on Sunday....)

Engine is out again to check the clutch issue.
The clutch plate rubbed on the inside of the pressure plate!!. I dont know why it did that....Eurospec doesnt know ether.
I also found the fitting of bearing bend and damaged. There is some minor damage to the input shaft too....
Any ideas of what the hell happen?

Yeap....the fault was due to a missing bearing inside the flywheel. It was not send (or maybe misplaced) .That was the reason of all the clutch issues I had so far...
I am ordering a fx850 kit this time around.. Hope this solves the ongoing clutch issues for ever...

I am thinking of making another 2.7T single turbo and install that in the car ,together with a stock ecu and wiring. I have a 2.4 complete motor laying around and I do have a lot of leftover parts from this built (pistons-rods-2.7crank,girdle , intake etc). That would make thinks a lot easier for trouble shooting in the future. The car is constantly down with this setup and its a shame to keep it like that, especially with all the money spend on the rs4 b7 body....I never really enjoyed the car....

If I do this, I will install the 3.0L to an old 1996 Audi A4 quattro and use it for drag racing. That thing weights (as 1.8T 20V quattro) 1250kg...

time for an update on the topic.
As i said before i put the engine in a b5 a4 quattro. It was way to powerful for the b7 cabrio. the cabrio is still getting a v6 but with stock size twin turbos.
b5 Car is light and i am doing more to get it to be lighter. now its on the 1240kg mark with a 80kg driver.
we initially tune the engine in a hurry because we wanted to enter a drag event. car made close to 800 whp with 800 wheel nm. We had issues with the new custom catcams. the cam to lifter was way to big (1.2mm bigger), so both duration and lift were smaller. even the timing was wrong by 1 tooth so we did not have vvt to help spool up the turbo.we also have an exhaust leak from the 2 vbands of the exhaust manifolds. this made the car more laggy than normal. Car is reving up to 8500rpm (solid lifter). here is a video of one of the runs.

    http://vid76.photobucket.com/albums/...psx6lw6end.mp4

I am posting a dyno graf of a 660whp and not the 800 whp one. we had misfires issues with the rs4 b7 coils.

as you can see power remains constant at the top end. this shows a restriction somewhere.
i know for a fact that the rs4 b7 intake manifold is small, but i can not find a bigger one. a custom intake will be nice but who will flowbench it to see if the flow is even in each cylinder?
i also know that the overprice exhaust manifold i got are all wrong and too small for the type of power. i installed a backpressure sensor and together with the egt it will give me an idea of what is going on.
I also have a really small turbine housing (.84 ar) . i will change this together with a bigger compressor wheel after the February drag event.

    Now for the fireworks.
    I bought aem smart coils

Fixed the cams issues, so 1mm plus lift and more duration
......and intalled a 300whp (354hp) 6 fogger wet nos system.
The system will be controlled proportionally from my 1280 ecu. I design the functions my self and i am exited to test them out.its a 3d map system with different maps for each gear and corrections factor connected to the ecus traction control etc.
my target is to keep tq to the 850Nm wheel mark for as long as i can. from 4200 rpm to redline. i am hoping the backpressure and egt will let me pass the 1000whp mark (mustang aw500 ofcourse) . i hope to make this happen this week. everything was ready to drop the engine in the car, but the reverse gear is not engaging so we are trying to figure it out. wish me luck :)

wow. you have come a long way, man. congrats on the results so far.

on a sidenote, it sounds like you've got some pretty hot cars there.

We stopped at 2.1 bars ,no nos. Power remained constant from 5500rpm to redline. Looks like we have a big restriction somewhere.
The ported Rs4 intake manifold is a obvious candidate (read somewhere about a flow of 700cfm at 28) .i still didnt find any flow data about the 2.8 heads (mine is ported)
I am also changing the fmic to a bigger one today.
I will have to boost the engine a lot since the flow is restrictive.
Next dyno (this week) will be at 2.8-3bars with nos.

Ps. i have girdle and update main caps

I am relocating the turbo and changing my efr9180 to something a lot bigger.

Agttronic manifolds are for sale in the sales section.

    Yes. From eurospec

I took the heads out to port them and I found a strange vertical groove on the block exactly where the piston ring gap is. The groove is deep on one cylinder and a barely visible on another 2. Other the engine sucked in a metal material or the piston rings are not gap correctly.
After the machine shop inspected the groove, I was told to run it as it it..

I am making custom manifolds . I need to reduce the ridiculous backpressure issue I was having. At 1.7 bar I had 3.5 bar back pressure ......
I also changed the injectors to bigger ones.
I know that it took a ridiculous amount of time but each revision of the engine, I m getting closer to my target. My target is 1000+whp

Pics are when i was doing mokeup with twin 9180 efr. It was too laggy so I when to gtx3071r. Power is at 950 awhp Mustang Dyno. Trying to push pass 1150 whp now...

Twin 9180's is (was) just too much turbo as they will each do about 1000bhp

That's why I was wondering when they were spooling lol. I have a single 8374 1.05, I can't imagine what the lag would be like on two of those let alone 9180's lol
