Our local forum has another outing at NTR in April!
No waiting hours in line, at the last one I did 15 passes in a row with no waiting!

All are welcome, and there will be a huge variety of cars!

    http://crgeneralrspring12.eventbrite.com/

National Trail Raceway - Hebron, Ohio (about 25 minutes east of Columbus off of US40)
Friday, April 20th, 2012 (Rain date: Friday, April 27th, 2012)
    9am-5pm
    Gates open at 8am
Max of 90 vehicles (45 General Registration spots available)
Price: $25 for General Registration. Non-refundable unless the event is canceled.
    Spectators are FREE!

    Gates and Entry:

Gates will open at 8AM and racing is from 9AM to 5PM. We will be on the east side of the track, in the staging area/parking lot. Use the east gate and follow the road around to the left.

If you are not pre-registered you may still pay at the event if there are spots left. The fee is $50 CASH and you must find a CR representative (Anthony "DarkFormula" or Brian "V8 BEAST") to take the money and tech you in. No one else will be doing day-of registrations, you must see one of them. No cash, no race.

    Tech:

Tech is from 8-10AM in the staging lanes, and all registrants will be required to sign a waiver not holding National Trail Raceway or Columbus Racing responsible for liability. We're looking for no leaks, nothing falling off, etc. You must wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves, t-shirts are fine. A Snell/DOT approved helmet is also required if you're running 13.99 or quicker. Cars 11.99 and quicker should have a all NHRA mandated safety equipment, including a roll cage for 11.49 or quicker. All vehicles will be marked after tech for record-keeping and verification reasons. You will not be able to race if you're not teched in; if you deliberately try to race without tech you will be ejected from the track and forfeit your registration money. Trails staff will be watching. Should you arrive after 10am it's your responsibility to track down a CR representative to tech you in.

Motorcycles must have a Snell/DOT helmet with full shield, full-sleeve protective jacket, long pants, and over-the-ankle-shoes. If your motorcycle is quicker than 10.00 or faster than 120mph, you WILL need full protective gear and boots. It's suicide not to. Do not try and get around this, if you're busted, we may eject you from the event and you will forfeit your registration money.

    Racing:

We will be utilizing the staging lanes on the north side of the track that exit under the tower. Please be courteous and orderly to other drivers. The north side (left two lanes) of the track are for ALL VEHICLES ALL TIRES, including radials, drag radials, and slicks. The south side (right two lanes) are for SLICK TIRE/DOT SLICK/DRAG RADIAL VEHICLES ONLY, including motorcycles ON SLICKS.
Bikes and cars have been asked by NTR to refrain from running heads-up for safety reasons. I.E; cars versus cars and bikes versus bikes only.
If you break and spill fluids or damage the track, you are responsible for the clean-up fees and/or repairs. In the case this occurs, please see Anthony aka DarkFormula ASAP.

Must be a thing about B7's getting hit on the drivers side.

17 year old & ford explorer thinking he can pass people around a 10mph 90 degree bend @ 40.
As a testament to how how strong these cars are, both the front & rear door opened after being shoved into that ditch by a explorer t-boning me.

Took her to CSN and it looked better than it did new.
Whole care was buffed panel fitment was better than ever.
110% satisfied. Plus, Charlie is hilarious!
Hilliard, eh? Over off Davidson Road there? That sucks.

I didn't realize that CSN was still around. Ages ago, I had them do a custom paint job on my 2000 Celica when I was in my Fast & Furious phase. LOL

Who's a good shop to do a spring install at? Looking at getting some H&R lowering springs, didn't want to pay through the nose for the install.

Yup, sucks, but it happens. But CSN was amazing!

Huge place with small prices, they do lots of Audi/BMW work and are awesome.
They have done work for me in the past and I've always been 100% satisfied.
Tell them Shawn J. from ColumbusRacing sent you. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the work.

Any idea what their rates are. I have some coil overs to install but I really don't want to tackle the job myself.

Answered my own question! Gave them a ring and a full install on coil overs with alignment = ~400 before tax. I can't argue with that. I may have made some new best friends.

COme on it is my birthday today.
If you want, I can pay, say $20? :)

    great!
    What hours do you work?
Will you also bring you VAG COM? We tried to enable it,, but it would not. We figured that it won't enable until you have the aux plugged in?

I have been on the site for a while and since i got back from my last deployment i am finally getting my s5.. I found a 2009 S5 black on black with about 17k miles on it. I have been looking around the site and found there are a few things that i want to do to the care once i get it.. been researching the vag com mods and was wondering if there was anyone in or around columbus OHIO that wouldnt mind maybe meeting up helping out with a few of them, or that knows of a shop that would do the mods..

thanks for the help and i cant wait to get my car this week.

s5 are awesome cars man. My dad owns one but he lives in Texas. As far as shops go...German Autowerks is a good shop for vagcom as they usually have the latest software but they are a little pricey. Depending on the mod, im sure guys in the Cbus area can help you out.

I rarely post in the Columbus Thread but I've been pulling my hair out over the last few months. I've been wanting a B7 S4 but everyone makes it seem like they are time bombs! It seems like all I ever see are threads about how you have to drive them like a pussy or the engine will explode. Can anyone change my mind? I don't mind working on my cars, I don't mind if things break. But I don't want to lose an engine a month after I get the car. Any thoughts?

Just buy an extended engine plan from someone when you buy it. I grenaded my 1.8T from a replaced timing belt that failed at 14,000 miles. Shit happens. If you want it get it before you talk your self out of it from what you read.

Wouldn't that be stupid expensive on a 6 year old car? I'm not even sure who does engine only plans, fidelity maybe? Anyone have experience with third party extended plans?

Hmm might be cheaper then the engine and the labor. I would ask Justin what they might have a the dealer, but he is on his way out of town with some family matters. I'll try to see what I could find.

Just picked up an '07 Ibis S4 and can't wait to get home to it! Live out in the Pickerington area and have a couple friends with Audi's and 1 VW that live in the Newark area. Glad to see there are quite a few helpful people in the area. May have a few questions come this fall.
