Need Your Opinon On This One... (Coilover content)

I bought my A4 sept '07 with H&R coilovers installed by a previous owner. These coilovers have about 50,000mi on them but could be up to 9 years old.

over the past winter i blew one of my front struts and the other is leaking.

The cheapest new struts i can get are ~$375-400 which is ridiculous but theres no way around that

Is it worth it to just save up enough $$ to buy an entire new coilover set up since two new struts is equivalent to 2/3s the price of a new system?

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks!

Wow, that is a tough choice. My honest thought is to buy something new. If one or more are out the other shouldn't be to far behind. That's from personal experience though. There's some nice options out there to pick from lately as well. I just picked up some H&R coilovers hopefully in when the time comes that one of the struts blows out I wont own the car anymore lol.

Send your H&R's to bilstien for rebuild. When I bought mine they were shot and had three bent shafts (don't buy use coilovers!) Total for rebuild was just under $400. Including purchase ($450) still about 400 cheaper than new ones.

Freshly rebuilt unfourtunately I had to paint em', I couldn't find anyone who would do plating assembled.

They don't recognize the part# for the fronts, but just send them in, they'll do it. Straight rebuilt is much cheaper as long as nothing is bent.

I'm in the same boat here. H&R coils, rronts are leaking, and driver side front might be blown considering the amount of noise it makes when going over a series of bumps.

I'll be purchasing Vogltand coilovers within the next week.
