    Alcantara Cleaning

No I'm not asking how to clean alcantara without searching first...

This is just me advising anyone with the sport interior to CLEAN THEIR ALCANTARA. I used a clean microfiber towel, some hot water and mixed with a little dish soap, and wow does it make a difference.

I got out dirt, grease stains and even a small pen mark. I wish I had a camera better than my cell phone to take some pics.

I'd also recommend buying a cheap $6 fabric shaver from walmart to make your worn alcantara look new.

My seats looked good before, and I thought were in pretty damn good condition. Now they look great!

x 100000 on that fabric shaver!!! it makes it soooo nice after you're done with it. I used the mr. clean magic eraser on mine also with some fabric cleaner and warm/soapy water.. not too wet, as you could damage the seat/soak the fabric. Really looks and feels new. it feels just as good as the alcantara on the bottom of the seat that nothing ever touches

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering what the best way to keep it looking like new was.

Great reference, however I don't trust myself buying products and doing it myself. I'd much rather pay a professional than risk me messin shit up. Plus im lazy.

strange, i just went over my driver's seat with a sweater shaver like 2 hours ago. i think the majority of the pills come from entry/exit of the car like when you slide your ass over the seat. i must look so weird getting out of the car i have this really strange method involving the steering wheel and the hanging handle on the ceiling where i like, "lift" myself up off the seat

    Re: Alcantara Cleaning

haha.. I was sort of skeptical at first as well. But I covered all of my leather with towels and sprayed this foaming cleaner on the alcantara. didnt want to risk screwing the leather up. just a single conservative spritz is all you need. Then take a moist (lightly moist) magic eraser and scrub after the light layer of foam is gone. this should take out any grime or shit that manages to make it a nasty color. Then take a dry eraser and scrub it again. I hairdried mine after this to expedite drying. Just close enough so it was drying without getting too hot. After this I did the fabric shaver. Then I took the dry magic eraser and did it again to get it good. in the end: Soft, white alcantara!
took me like half an hour for both seats

    Re: Alcantara Cleaning

I used Mr. Clean magic eraser and a fabric shaver. Worked wonders.

I'll try dish soap and water next time though. Thanks for the heads-up .
