Blackout Grille w/out blackout plate holder?

Hey guys/gals, i was just wondering does it look realli nasty if i got the black Sline Grille without the blackout plate filler and just use my regular grey one? Sorry if this is a repost but i couldn't find a similar post

No doesnt look too bad, I just plasti-dipped my grey plate delete to black and it looks oem, I have the titanium black oem grill (same as s-line minus sline badge)

Napa, Schucks, Autozone, Sears (its mainly used to paint too handles etc) If you cant source it locally, buy it online, have it shipped, shouldnt cost more than $10 shipped. (far cheaper than paying $100-150 for a black one)

scuff it up with some sand paper, clean it with prep, then plasti-dip it. 2 or 3 thin coats.

I rocked the grey one for awhile and it didn't look too bad. annoyed the shit out of me though haha. Are you going license plate delete or the license plate holder?

have to have front plates in toronto =S i might try to paint it like Sofresh then if it doesn't work out then i'll have to get it. 110 seems kinda expensive for a piece of plastic that small and doesn't give any performance lol. I wish i could use the delete

yea i find it realli stupid but it is an amazing way to make money. Its like somebody trying to sell u the car at a unbelievable price then when u research more on it u find out wheels and tires are seperate and costs the same price as the car and only those wheels and tires would work with the car =P

i used krylon fusion for both my grill and plate holder. its been holding up to the weather (snow/salt/etc) and hasn't chipped yet.

what are you using? spray from farther away, like 18", in light even coatings.

=P 18 inches? or 18 mm? =P i was just checking today the paint does look realli OEM but the thing was i live in a apartment and had to paint it on the patio thing.. so the wind blew some snow onto the filler and made bubbles. so it wasn't my fault =D gonna sand it down with some fine sand paper and give it 2 more coats and i should be good for tonite

to prevent the bubbles make sure youre spraying at a 45 degree angle, and dont tilt the can upside down or at a sharp angle, I had this issue as well the first time, sorry I didnt mention that. if you can hang the piece youre painting and spray at an perfect head on at about 12-14 inches away, would be perfect

i stripped the plastic off with some 400 grit sand paper. just did it again, hoping for the best =) but this stuff is pretty wicked looks 90+% oem black =) FRICK I SCREWD UP AGAIN THIS TIME the newspaper went up onto the grille and got paper all stuck FUCK

HOLY FLUX THIS GRILLE IS IMPOSSIBLE, taking off the bumper was not that hard. but this grille was designed to be IMPOSSIBLE. Took me 1-2 hours just for the grille i ended up getting pissed and just cut off 4 clips that attach to the middle~~ HOLY SHIT IS ALL I CAN SAY

Agreed. Its not easy at all. I assume you removed all screws holding it in first right? Just stating the obvious.

I ended up using a few large flathead screwdrivers and prying out different sections. I think the bottom releases easier, then go up the sides, finishing w/ the top.

about those screws, on my o8 they're aluminum lol luckily i didn't do the non bumper removal. its 2 phillip head screws. and FRIG why do they have so many lil tabs, those tabs in the middle are overkill but the funny thing is that the grille and the bumper has screw holes but doesnt use it
