I had a B8 A4 2.0T for a loaner the last couple days while my B6 S4 is in the shop. For the most part, a very nice car. The keyless everything system is creepy and takes a lot of getting used to. When I want to shut the car off I'm always instinctively grabbing at the steering column... haha. The dynamic ride control is also pretty sweet... that would make putting coilovers on a much more difficult decision. The headlights are amazing and everyone comments on how cool the LED's look.
I was curious though, I see a button on the driver's tweeter that when I press it briefly illuminates some lights behind the black covers on the inside of each side view mirror. The red light on the button stays on until I turn it off. What is this for? Manual control of the mirror heaters or something?
I'd look in the manual, but it appears someone 'liberated' it from the loaner.
Also, is the Quattro system still Torsen? I was able to kick on the ASR on dry pavement by hammering the throttle on a gentle curve, which seemed odd, as that's hard to do in my 340hp S4, and pretty easy in the ~200hp 2.0T.
