Door lock question

Ok, ive been trying tofigure out why my drivers door wont lock using the fob or interior door lock switch.


I am able to lock and unlock all doors with my key. However if I use my fob to lock my door. All locks work with the exception of the drivers. I can unlock all with the fob btw.

Now, when I do lock the car with the fob, it appears as if the lock has a second of movement but doesnt fully engage If you want to call it that.

im thinking maybe vacuum leak but if i can unlock all doors without a problem maybe something is stuck? Anyone ever ran into this?

to me it sounds like your car thinks the door is open, since this is what happens when you try to lock the car with the driver door open, it wont lock the driver because it doesn't want you to lock yourself out.

do your interior lights stay on as if a door is open? or do you have them turned off

just my 2cents since i had a similar problem with my g/fs mk4 jetta when her door lock control module went out, the car could never tell when the door was open or closed so it would do weird things i.e set off alarm, not set the alarm, sometimes not lock the drivers door even if it was closed...

not sure how the audis get their info about door position though...

iirc theres an electrical switch in the latch mechanism.

this happened to me as well after i took a long trip up the cali coast. But then the next day my locking system worked fine again, but my key fobs just dont work.... what could that mean you think? and no, batterys dont have anything to do with it because both were working then stopped right after each other.

interior switch works but not for drivers door.
Interior light works with door opened/closed.

Just seems this driver door lock wont work with any electrical impulses.
when it gets warmer i'll dismantle the panel.
