    p1296 code keeps comming up.

    p1296 error in mapped cooling system, check temp sensor or thermostat.
    this code use to come up vary rarely but its been comming up twice a week recently. I guess I need to stop being lazy and fix something. would you suggest replacing the temp sensor first and going from there if the code comes back?
    Then: 1985 Audi coupe GT, 1990 Audi 90 sport, 2000 Audi S4 stage 2+, 2002 Audi TT 225.
    Now: 2011 Audi S4

    just stick a paper clip in the end of the connector that plugs into the sensor :P

    Seriously though the sensor inside the tank might be shot.

    is that where its at, inside the coolant expansion tank?

    CTS is located on the passenger side behind the cylinder head
