keyless remote not working sometimes

searching on this topic has been fruitless so i ask, do you guys experience some frustration with unlocking the car when you press the remote while parked in certain areas? i've noticed that depending on where i park, i might not be able to use the remote to lock/unlock the car. i know it's not the batteries because they're new and when i move the car to a different area, the remote works fine again.

I've read heaps of threads on increasing the range of the antenna, however none on my particular issue. I've looked for the antenna under my rear seat and c pillar but couldn't find anything there either. where else should i look?

it's a 97 b5 by the way.

Mine is like that too, sometimes i can be about 5 feet from the car and it doesnt work and other times about 10 feet and it does (though 10 feet away is about max working distance). the range is just terrible on these cars i guess.
did you actually take the c pillar off, i dont think youd be able to see it without taking it off

mine does this a lot too, but like js said, i think our cars just have really shitty range. theres a DIY around on how to increase the range by moving the antenna to the back bumper. if i find it ill post it up
