AE /// New Forgestar Wheel Design!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Introducing the worlds 1st 1 piece lightweight flow formed wheel lineup.

Flow Forming is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel.

They recommend 46 offset in the front and 33 offset rear for the B8 in 19x9.

Also, I noticed youre semi-local, so let me know if you'd like have your ECU flashed with GIAC. Theyre the first to do the B8 A4.

    Thanks for noticing.

I will be flashing soon but that will come after my suspension install and rims. Will you be offering these rims in 20's. Need a B8 for test fits and discounts?

Congrats! These wheels wont be available in 20s for a while, if at all.

Let me know about your suspension and such, maybe we can take care of all of that for you.

No effing way. I'm running 19x8.5" ET38 in the rear and ET33 in rear, which translates to ET44/ET39, respectively. We had to use 245 width tires (255 is recommended) to avoid rubbing the rear fenders and the fronts have about 5-8mm of additional room between the outside of the tires and the fenders. IMO, staggered offsets are a mistake for the B8. If anything, the front fenders are actually WIDER than the rears. 19x9 ET38-43 all around would be the optimal offset, depending on how aggressive you want to go.

That is what they recommended, and I did some searching and it looks like cargraphic recommends similar specs to what they use as well...

I dont follow what you are talking about anyway... how does an offset of 38 front and 33 rear translate to a different offset? The offsets you are running are more aggressive than what I posted... lower number = pushed out more towards the fender... higher number = in more.

ET33 on 8.5" is the same as ET39 on 9". ET38 on 8.5" is the same as ET44 on 9". This means that your recommended offset would be 2mm LESS aggressive than my fronts, which are already at least 5mm sunk in the front fenders, and 6mm MORE aggressive than my rears, which are already rubbing the fender liners with 245/35/19 tires that are thinner than the recommended 255/35/19. If they use these specs, I can guarantee that your customers will not be happy. I'm only trying to help, as I already found out the hard way when I had to send my rear wheels back to HRE to machine 5mm off the hub because the outside edge of the tires rubbed the fenders uncontrollably.

No problem. As I previously stated, I think staggered offsets are a mistake on the B8 A4 and if I could do it all over I would have specified 19x9" ET40 on all 4 corners. Staggered offsets might have made sense on past A4's where the rear fenders were wider, but that is definitely not the case on the B8.

The offsets that Forgestar recommend seem to be correct. By looking at your avatar if that is your car, of course it is gonna rub you are slammed to the floor.

I'm not even that low, just no gap between the fenders and tires. Take a look at these pictures and tell me the front offset should be ANY higher. I'm planning on adding an 8mm spacer just so the fronts are even with the rears in relation to the fenders.

FYI- These pictures are 20x9" ET46(F) & ET34(R). As you can see, the rears are poking past the fenders by AT LEAST 5mm and the owner had to have the offsets machined higher so that they would fit.

Re: AE /// New Forgestar Wheel Design!

Sorry to keep pushing this but if you look at the tires on that white B8 you can see the sidewall is pretty straight up. Im gonna take a wild guess and say those are Conti Sport 2's or Michellin because they are wide. Run a more stretched tire and you shouldn't have much rubbing issues on a moderately lowered car. Take a look at these pictures of a B8 with similar offsets as you posted but running Dunlop. http://www.cargraphic.de/index.php?/...,article,4024/ I only say all of this from experience because I work for a wheel company and this happens to customers all the time when they don't run our recommended size and end up getting upset with us because of our aggressive fitment.

FYI- These pictures are 20x9" ET46(F) & ET34(R). As you can see, the rears are poking past the fenders by AT LEAST 5mm and the owner had to have the offsets machined higher so that they would fit.

Hey, I could care less if they want to give customers the wrong offsets that will require special tires to avoid rubbing in the rear and spacers in the front to look flush. I'm just trying to help out based on my ACTUAL experience, not just looking at pictures and saying it looks close enough. I'll say this one last time and then I'm unsubscribing from this thread... STAGGERED OFFSETS ARE A MISTAKE FOR THE B8 A4. While previous A4's may have had wider rear fenders, the B8 does not.

They do come in 5x112. Thats just a range in the first post of the different bolt patterns they can be built in, which basically covers any 5 bolt pattern for any car. Let me know if youre interested in a set for your B6. These wheels are so new, nobody has them yet. Its all pre-orders so far until another week or 2.

What are the chances of getting these in 19x9 with like a +22 offset for a B7 RS4?
