Punchlist going thru the new car need input

Okay so just going over the new car and everything i would like to do so its up to my standards

My trunk handle doesnt work, anyone ever heard of this? The remote pops the trunk but the handle won't. Could it be a simple fix?

Well i consider myself pretty car savy and maybe i am just thinking too far into this and not seeing the light but for the life of me i cannot figure out or read in the manual what these two things do:

The little tiny nob that pushes out next to the light switch that has two settings. The picture next to it shows something like a gauge and the light symbols. I have no idea what it does.

And on my rear view mirror theres a power button with two lights on either side. If i press it the right side lights up green or turns off if pressed again, again i dont know what it does

If someone could guide me thru my blindness cause im most likely missing something very simple

The knob next to the light switch, I can't remember the terminolgy for it, but in position 1 will illuminate the exterior lighting for a minute or 2 when the car is locked or unlocked with the remote. Position 0 will not illuminate any exterior lighting aside from the normal flashing of the turn indiactors.

The button on the rearview is the power button for the auto-dimming rearview feature. If the green light is on, the auto-dimming feature is activated.

ok if the car is locked and u just open the drivers door the trunk wont work u have to hit the unlick twice to unlock the whole car then it will work. Thats how mine works but i have a B7 S4 and its a touch pad. That knob next to your light switch its exit and enter lighting. but i didnt think that started till the B7's On mine it lights up the front fogs and the rear tail lights when either i pull the key out of the ignition or unlock the car. And only works at night.
That light is for your auto dimming mirrors the green light is the system is on. no light means its off. just leave it green.

Press unlock on the remote two times in rapid succession and try again. On my car it only works when all doors are unlocked.

This knob turns on and off the feature that lights up the foglights and tailights at night when locking and unlocking the car. It is described in the manual.

The manual should describe all of these features, in greater detail than what I have provided.

thanks guys, i probably should of been able to figure that out, but I did assume that the tiny knob was the entry and exit lighting but did not see a difference in either position, I probably just overlooked it when i was messing around,

Going downstairs to check out the trunk right now

    Thanks again

So just checked out the trunk further and there is a real problem. I was pretty sure I already did the double unlock before but i double checked anyways

The button inside the car on the door, doesnt work either, the trunk will only open off of the remote

    Ideas?

Your trunk lock is in Valet mode, this locks out the trunk from the door switch and the unlock system for the doors. The valet key will lock/arm the car but not open the trunk and back seat locks. Insert the key into the trunk lock (just above the license plate) the key is horizontal , now turn the key 90 deg counter clockwise to the vertical position . Should work fine now
