how strong is JB weld?

strong enough to fix a hairline crack in an F'in BBS CH that supposed to be forged?

ive done my calculations on the material, the weight load on each wheel and at how much PSI at that given point on the wheel. its basically a crack on the inner side of the wheels lip, it doesnt deflate but it could and will if i hit something. i just dont know any thing about this JB weld.

dont know how well it will hold because of the vibrations. its strong stuff but not for a wheel

I've used jb weld to fill scrapes and scratches on wheels, but I wouldn't trust it for a crack.

Your not gonna wanna use Jb for anything structural. Also, JB fails under sheer stresses.

a welding shop shouldnt charge too much for a spot weld. do it right man

nm guys i just found a welding bad ass that just welded it shut for 10 bucks. he does only wheels.... if you guys are in NORCAL hit this dude up. he also does wheel repair on faces.

CH are cast and not forged. Fix it properly by having it welded.

It's gonna have to be repaired professionally. If it's cracked and still being driven on, it's going to spread andi t will eventually lose air, as you suspect.

Agreed. Get it welded. And you underestimate the strength of JB Weld. Held a chunk of my tranny together on the probe through winter til it warmed up enough to replace it.

I use it to hold me wheels on my car. All 5 bolts don't have to be there now and it's great for weight saving.

If it's an actual crack, you shouldn't think of anything else but WELDING it. Make the 2 sides become 1 again. Anything else just seems half assed and ghetto.

Hahaha and I thought I was a weirdo for patching up my trans with JB weld. Back in my honda days I ripped a chunk of my trans out on a stupid manhole. JB weld to the rescue. Worked like a charm.

Yeah, jackass that put the tranny in dropped it I guess and I had a puddle of gear oil sitting on the black top shortly after I got the car back. Good ole DSM days for me.
