Need solutions/help URS6

I picked up a 1995 S6,145,000, bone stock, about a month ago now. I can not figure out a ton of things. I have been reading through this AudiWorld,Vortex,S-cars to find answers, I have not found them. So here I am asking for help.

1. A Bentley would help, but I can only find it on CD. Is ithe CD worth it from ECS?

2. My high beams do not work, the passing lights do on the other hand operate correctly. Low beams and fogs work along with all flashers, any ideas?
-I bought a combo switch but have no clue on pulling the steering wheel????

3. The sun roof does not operate at all. I cleaned the contacts and no luck. I looked under the hood at fuses and there is no fuse nor is there the connection to place the fuse into. I believe it is #6.

4. My power windows do not operate, I haven't a clue on where to start with this one. I checked fuses though.

5. Airbag light comes on for 2 minutes then turns off? I read its just an idiot light that needs to be reset any other ideas?

6. I get a flashing brake light from time to time, topped off the power steering fluid, brake fluid level is with in satisfactory levels. I did find a loose brake b-nut on the left front that has since been torqued down. What else can I look at.

7. The HVAC is just finicky. It will always turn on, but some controls are unavailable. I can't always control speed or temp, I can put it on to the floor or defrost or auto BUT to go between I have to hit the last selected control again for it to go to the next.
-IE, I have the controls set to auto, I want floor heat so I hit it that works, NOW I have to hit floor again for it to go to auto.

8. I know that the bushings for the sway bars are bad, I can not find a place to purchase them from. Local dealer said special order item hence they want my first born.

9. The car seems to dip to the passenger front under braking, not sure to think suspension or brake. Car rides smooth outside a vibration over 80mph but I think thats due to #8.

10. I am replacing the full exhaust, thought I had a leak instead it was clamps. Anyone know where to sell the cats for cash so I can try to recover some of that money for other maintenance?

11. I have to inop gauges on my dash. Coolant and Oil, just need a direction on where to look my guess is it a sensor for both buy I see 10 plus sensors.

I guess let me apologize for the lengthy first post. I have to get this car inspected by 2 Feb and times are getting desperate. Thanks for the help in advance. I look forward to getting to know my car and some of the people of this forum.

1. Yes, buy the bentley manual

2. Behind the wheel, there are i think 2 torx bits, take those out, remove the airbag, then you can gain access to the nut that holds the wheel on, then you can take the wheel off. The plastic shit around the steering colum comes off with phillips screws, from the bottom.

3. No idea, check the fuses in the car, there is a fuse panel located on the side of the dash, you can see it when the drivers side door is open.

4. No idea, might have something to do with the moon roof not working, as this stuff is usually groupped together.

5. Again, no idea, if you have VAG-COM you can scan to find alot of stuff out with your vehicle.

6. One or more of the following: Brake accumulator (nitrogen "bomb"), Whimpy power steering pump, brake servo(would suck if thats the case).

7. Might be the actual climate control programmer (where you make all your climate control adjustments), or, if you are having an issue with no matter what you set the system on (bi-lev, defrost, feet, face vents) the system just defaults to defrost. That is the servo motor that control the flaps to modulate heat or a/c. It is a total PITA to replace that little servo motor, if you are not swearing, you are doing something wrong. Alas, once you do the job once, its ALOT easier.

8. Autohausaz.com, Blauparts.com, good prices there. Blau sells nice "kits" that take care of alot of issue at once.

9. Maybe a seized caliper?

10. The market on scrap is like the stock market, stuff goes up and down daily. I got a whopping 40bucks back for my cats.

11. Check wiring first to each sensor, this is where the bentley manual can come in handy as far as nice diagrams for stuff like this.

That should be a good starting point, see what you come up with.

Thanks for the help, I have Bentley in hand today. Hopefully I can sort some of this stuff soon, I have to get my inspection done.

Believe it or not my sun roof just started working for no real reason. So now to figure out why it works now.

I would have to say save your money on a Bentley on CD. My Bentley for my VR6 was an asset in paperback for this car save your $$$

4. My power windows do not operate, I haven't a clue on where to start with this one. - The power window relay is located behind driver side kick panel. Also, use a flathead screwdriver to pull out your actual power window switch at the door panel and see if there is a loose connection there.

What else can I look at.Pull your front wheels off and check your brake pad sensor plugs as well as the pads themself.

Man you got some crazy electrical going on. Now that I think about it, pull your battery for 10 minutes and reconnect. where do all your electrical gremlins stand?

No Power mirrors, not window, I wrote that a few times now oops. Well atleast the sunroof works.
Its funny deephouse the first thread I read start to finish was your post. That CD just does not help any.

With so many electrical gremlins I'd be tempted to replace the ignition switch.
A bad ignition switch can cause alot of problems on these cars.
Do not by aftermarket, they are known to fail quickly.

Doubt this, go to Audiworld.com and search ignition switch
