I called South Bend this morning inquiring about the clutch for the my B6S4 and spoke to John. He told me that they had developed a complete kit for for the 4.2 and they are finanalize on their test right now. The kit will cost $1500 and Will be available by mid March or early April. He'd also mentioned the different stages that will be available for our cars. Anywhere from stage 1-6. This could not come at a better time, since my car has 75k clicks on her now. Anyone else on the forumn knows more info about this?

I have a Stage III disc going in tomorrow. When I bought it, it was the only thing available...although he mentioned they were developing a lightweight flywheel. Pricing seemed reasonable for what you get, I just had an OEM disc shipped to their offices and got it back in 2 weeks.

I sent them a new OEM disk to upgrade. $275 and it used the stock PP.

Yeah their kit will probably include a light weight flywheel. You can send them an oem unit and have them upgrade it to stage 3 for under $300, which is what myself and many others have done.

I might have misinterpret what he said, but from what I understand is it's not only the fly wheel, but a total complete kit.

You can buy the entire OEM clutch brand new for about $400 (PP, Disk, throwout bearing). I shipped them the parts and for an additional 200-300 they upgraded the disk. That is a total of $700 for a stage 3 southbend clutch (they change the material on the disk, that is all). I'm guessing your $1500 kit includes the new lightweight flywheel as well. Sounds like a good deal, the OEM flywheel in our car is more than $700.

Be prepared for the side effects of the lightweight flywheel. I'm not sure how it will be in our car, heard rumors of chatter. Maybe the other poster that has one can comment.

They did mentioned that to me. That and the stiffness of the pedals. They said that the clutch feels a little stiffer, but it is lighter than the one in the 350Z. From what I hear, the already settled on the stiffness, but they are still working out the problem of the chatter though. From what I understand that's the last quirk that they have to work out.

My stage 3 clutch pedal feel isn't much (if any) firmer than stock. Nothing like the old heavy duty clutch in my mustang.

No kidding. The Clutch in my 03 Cobra would make you walk in circles after driving it for a short time.
