2001 A8 4.2L Possible Purchase

I am thinking about purchasing a 2001 A8 4.2L and was curious to know if anyone had any recommendations on whether or not I should go through with this purchase or stay away from this generation? The asking price is $15,000 with 35,600 miles. What do I need to be aware of in regards to possible mechanical/electrical issues? Thank you!

Holy crap thats a low mileage car for its age, are you sure you didn't leave out a 1 on the left side? Definitely go for it.

The car has a clean car fax report other than a fender-bender which was nothing serious, and the mileage is verified. I cannot believe it either. Anything I should look out for with the 2001?

That seems high, regardless of mileage. '01 and '02 S8s are selling in that range. The major gremlin in facelift D2s seems to be transmission related, but normally at significantly higher mileage. Bruce Mendel (posts on Audiworld D2 and allroad forums as Bruce M, has located cars and provided warranties for many of us on Aw) has an '01 S8, fully loaded (including full alcantara interior) and in excellent condition (no accidents, original paint) for about the same price.
