I'm installing an RNS-E and wanted to know if there was anything more I needed to use the sharkfin adapter for GPS?

Lots of cable. From what I remember, the GPS antenna in the sharkfin doesn't have the cable if the car didn't have the factory nav option installed. That also means that you'll need to pull the headliner down to get to the connectors inside the sharkfin and then run the cable to the dash.

Correction, there should be existing cables from the shark fin to one of the back pillar that you just connect to the GPS antenna cable.
Mine was on the rear seat passenger side pillar, it is cumbersome I had to pull the window mold to run the antenna, other than that it's easy.
Let me see if I can post pics.

Here's a pic for the thread. The Fakra connection is located right here and ready to go.

I remember that by using the shark fin....you get more Sat. signal ..like 8 of them which are more precise on direction and time sync status.

EDIT: To avoid confusion, that pic above ^^ shows the drivers side. The NAV Fakra connection is on the passenger side as stated.

There I took out the second pic, why did I take off the rear window panel ...I don't remeber but I concur it is on the passenger side.

Re: Using the Sharkfin for GPS

I get like 6 sat antennas, and my antena is the one you hide behind the spedo. So I cant say its given me any complaints. Plus I live in SoCal, so I thought I would only get like 1 or 2 but it works fine and when im zoomed all the way in it has me on the right road, and the right speed..
