    Re: HIDs for $40

Setup is the same as it would be for a headlight.. I would say go for it, but keep it to the same color as your hid's or do a yellow setup reflects water ect better on the road.. But that is just me.. Would look good though since hid headlights and dull fogs dont look so good.

    Re: HIDs for $40

Notice: As of January 23rd 1:20pm Raptor kits come standard with 1-Year warranty. All orders placed before 1/23/2009 will still have life-time warranty.

Even VVME has a 2 year warranty. Is there a reason they needed to change the warranty product on this model of HID kit? Maybe too many claims and they felt it not benefitial on thier behalf to offer a lifetime warranty on a product that is known for crapping out (assumptions, but just makes logical sense). If you want to go for it, I say go for it. But you could also get the Apexcone ones listed right above it for $55 (basically, $15 for lifetime warranty is worth it; $7.50 per ballast/bulb).

    Re: HIDs for $40

Dumb question I'm sure but which bulb would you get if you want them for your headlights?

Nevermind my car has factory HID's I believe? Can I just replace the bulbs for different colored bulbs?

    Re: HIDs for $40

Not a dumb question (I don't flame people ). Our cars have H7 in the low beam, high beam, and fog light.

Edit for above: You need to find out if you indeed have HID/Xenon's in your stock headlamps before ordering. Then you need to find out if the bulbs for that kit are H7 or d2s. And you can replace the bulb with whatever temp you want, but make sure you get the correct bulb size.

^I myself run with a 55w 5000k kit (Retro-Solution). People say that 4300-6000k range is the ones to get for the best light output. My 5000k bulbs are like a perfect white.

What do you mean about the color? When I get HIDs, I'm gonna get 6000K. If I wanted a different color, I'd go for a slight yellow.

Its probably good you don't flame! Our cars have H7 in high and fog, d2s in low beam (he said he has factory HID). If he did not have HIDs, then your H7 claim would be right however.

I just meant if you run HID lows, and want to run fogs it would be wise to get upgraded fogs since the car looks kinda dumb with hid headlights and the stock halogen fogs.. Colors are so different. Just personal preference and I have heard that the yellow (i guess 3k) reflect the ground a lot better with ice/water ect.. so they are very useful and look good.

3K is pretty cool. I would run them for my high beams if they didn't attract cops

A friend of mine has an extra set of H7 3000k that I was going to try. I took a look in the new york vehicle laws and didn't see anything about bulb colors .. so I might try them.

    edit:
did some more reading and apparently it does state "white light" oh well.

It should be fine. Have you ever seen an older Lexus GS, ES or IS in New York with its fogs on?
