    Re: Brembo Rotors

Ebay has both the Brembo and Zimmerman, just beware that their could be imitations for these rotors. If you are paying $200 for all 4, more than likely they are not real Brembo or Zimmerman, I am sure you knew that already though.

Brembo's US dealer is Race technologies in CA. At least for their BBKs.

    Re: Brembo Rotors

actually brembo doesn't drill their production IRON rotors... not to be confused with Composite rotors or BBK kits, it's the companies who sell the rotors, they drill them and sell as brembo drilled.

    Re: Brembo Rotors

i've seen cross drilled rotors crack...from track abuse. but i think that is to be expected no?

I would go with the JHM rotors. having had the zimmerman x-drilled on my A4....they were ok...they did rust. the water shake on zimmerman rotors is horrible.....so in the rain...you would hit the brakes....and nothing happens for a few seconds...and then it bites...i believe the reason for this is because of cross drilled holes not being recessed. but i really wanted to go back to my stock rotors which had no problem stopping in the rain...then i made the car a summer only car and didn't have to worry about it.

    That's not true.

Brembo DOES cross drill and slot their own aftermarket Sport rotors. These are direct replacements to the OEM rotors from manufactured and distributed by Brembo under the "BREMBO SPORT" product line.

This is NOT to be confused with the number of companies who take Brembo blanks (which are available for many more applications) and do their own drilling and/or slotting before repackaging them as Brembo discs. As mentioned previously in this thread, if it seems to good to be true it most likely is.

The benefits of the Brembo SPORT applications are a higher quality metallurgy that makes them more resilient to the abuse of aggressive high performance and track applications. The benefit to a Brembo SPORT disc (as opposed to a blank disc, drilled or slotted by a 3rd party) is that the drilling a slotting patterns are specifically engineered to each disc. With proper engineering, tooling, manufacturing, and quality control (including x-ray inspection and proper balancing of each individual disc) you end up with a disc that is more resistant to premature cracking and offers improved longevity and proper wear rates.

    The bad news...
Brembo does not currently offer an authentic SPORT application for the Audi S4. If you do see a Brembo version being offered, it is NOT a true Brembo product and the buyer should take caution. When in doubt, it is best to stay with a genuine OEM disc from a reputable source like the ones offer from Mike@PureMS above.
