Yes, unfortunately it got locked/deleted. I can claim most of that, however, I thought it was necessary to call someone out on it when they questioned the quality of a product when he himself has questionable quality/service...continue on though...

they come from the borg warner factory where ever that is, but these look like they are made from the same cast. as u can see from the dent in the driverside for the manifold, the triangle for the KKK logo, etc. i might very well try these when i get back from europe lol

If I had more time and more guys around me that like to mess with our cars I would pick them up. We will never know till someone tries them out. But like stated above it would be pretty cool to have someone take it apart and see if the chra's is interchangeable.

No, It's much more likely that these are completely different turbos, the fact that the exact same company makes knock offs of other OEM turbos should make it obvious.

yup supply and demand. althought if they realize that more people want k04's they should mass produce them and offer deals or specials on them. like if they were around $1500 for 2 i would jump on that in a sec.

Right, but they can make $1000 extra dollars of pure profit. There is no incentive for them to expand and mass produce for less because they would probably end up making a similar profit. And mass production is not good for quality control... either way, they arent doing it so its either the Chinese Reps or the original K04s

I totally agree on the get what you pay for statement, but that usually has to be proven, and in this case, you have not had ANY experience with these chinese knockoff turbos, nor has anyone on this board as far as we know. So until someone tries these out, and has +/- experience with them, anything said in this thread is pure speculation and jibber jabber in my book.

I'm posting experience with the same companies knock-off turbos. They are well known to have a high failure rate in a short period of time. Do you want me to post videos of their "T70's" exploding at 20psi on the dyno? How about pictures of the compressor housings that were epoxied together. This company and there turbos aren't new. They won't even give a straight answer if they're knock-offs or OEM, that fact alone shows NO credibility.

Again to say that 'we don't know unless we try them' is bullshit. These are $1000 paperweights, factor in the removal and replacement 2 times and they're $2000+ paperweights.

You are exactly right, i just wanted to give people a warning of the reality behind knockoffs. Try them but don't come crying to me when they damage your car.

they're located in north carolina. someone from there should take a ride by and look at the turbos first hand. that would give some idea of the quality.

don't be arrogant. there are plenty of people who know exactly what they are doing who like to explore new avenues just for the hell of it. Progress is made by trying new things. If we all followed your point of view everyones cars would be the same. Do we know the quality of these pieces yet? NO because no one has actually TRIED them.

We actually know the track record of the company and their turbos. That's what I've been trying to explain, this isn't new.

I've used exhausts from these guys, they barely get them right. Fitment problems are common, sometimes being off by a couple inches. I wouldn't trust the same company that ships piping like that to keep bearing clearances on a turbo to within a few thous.

2791.00 is not a bad price for KKK k04s, inlet pipes, clamps and hardware from JHMotorsports.

Comparing it to the cost of other OEM turbos it is. You can get a Mitsu Evo3 16G for less then 600 each. Plus they flow more and are more durable then K04s.

If someone can get me an address ill try to go and look at them if its semi-local. Ill take my Mic's, and pressure testers to check the compressor side and the wastegates and measure the wheels. I have a good bit of experience with turbos so ill do my best with judging their quality, however its really hard to know everything without running them on the car. Ill be able to tell you the initial quality, but thats only a small part of the equation.

There are only a handful of forgeries that are able to mass produce the castings for these turbos. Theres a good chance that the housings and CHRA castings are the same as BW's, but the wheels and everything else is probably manufactured elsewhere with unknown QC. Im not saying theyre bad, though. We really wont know that until someone puts some miles on them.

If you do your own work then they could be worth the risk. Its not like new K04's have been a model of reliability.
