ok...i had my left xenon go out on me last week. It said "dipped left headlight" in the info area. So the bulbs are 7 years old and i automatically think to replace them. So i did......and i still have the same problem. Any ideas or suggestions? Im thinking the ballast maybe? but i am at a loss for thoughts...Do the headlights have a seperate fuse for each one? any help is appreciated

    Re: headlight out!

I'm in the same situation, except my light is out on the passngr side. If you checked the bulbs and they're OK, you're best bet is the ballast. Swap them out and test it...

You can always test your bulbs with the good ballast and determine your problem.

    Re: headlight out!

I used both brand new bulbs on the headlight that was not working and none worked. I put one of the new headlight bulb in the working headlight and the bulb lit up. So I kno the bulbs are good. So either a ballast on the drivers side or blown fuse/open wire? Where are the ballasts located?

Depends on what kind of headlights you have. If your HID's are an aftermarket conversion kit, the ballasts will most likely be mounted outboard of the headlight housing but you'll see wires travelling to them. If they are OEM xenons, then i beleive the ballasts are located in the housing right behind the lowbeam bulbs. Someone correct me if i'm wrong as i don't have OEM HID's.

    Re: headlight out!

Yeah, been there done that, it's almost certainly the ballast.
On regular xenons the ballast is on the bottom of the headlight housing, on bi-xenons the ballast is on the back of the headlight cover. You'll need a security torx bit to remove it.
