Another Ecode question

Ok, sorry about this, but I gotz confused reading through the ecode threads.

I have an 05 a4 with the H7 headlights. HOWEVER! I am running the oem ballast/hid kit from Aiken boy. Looks great.

My question is, do I need ecodes? I'd love more light output and/or sharper cutoff, but I can't tell if it's going to be better than what I have already.

I was looking at these from the bay:

Proper ecode setup will be better than what you have now.

The ebay link is for Helis (aftermarket) housings.

I suggest running OEM (Valeo) ecodes.

those ebay ones look like shit. good luck getting your hands on a pair of valeos. i have been trying for months

Is helix good? I ask because I wanna swap out my stock OEM D1S xenon headlights for the helix ones that are on the parts4euro site, and they use the D1S bulbs/ballasts. I was wondering if I could just swap out the OEM ballasts/bulbs from my stock and switch em out into the new headlights?? Is that possible? or would I have to buy new ballasts?
