But honestly, this is the realization I came up with (especially with people in the Auto industry).... you cannot turn an engineer into a businessman, and you cannot turn a businessman into an engineer. Many of these "techiie" companies and engineers have ZERO sense of doing business, and providing customer service. They do things black and white, and take so much pride in their products that they forget how to sell them, nor know the difference between their heads and their asses.
If a company gave me that kind of response, I would have really told them to "f*ck themselves".
I'm sure there are many "knock-off cables" out there, as well as a lot of "idiot" buyers and owners out there. You simply had a VCDS issue, and I could care less if your cable is genuine or not...but their first infatuation was to interrogate you in order to receive their blessed "support". Seeing this kind of shit makes me want to steer away from their products as well, or they simply need to learn how to do business a little better. They're simply "lucky" they own the VAG tuning market with their software and cables and there is no other real competition.... as a result they have their head confused with their asses like i mentioned.
This is not the first time I've seen this issue with VCDS IT DOES CRASH, even with their $300 "uber" cable.
