Stay away from Car Lounge!

3 people I know, and I have purchased cars with major problems, or had been in major accidents without being disclosed. I would not deal with these people. They are good at smoke and mirrors. Be careful, very careful of them.

i test drove a c6 a6 there, 3.2. the motor sounded really unhealthy. they have a nice car selection, with some really nice ones, but i dont think id give em my business. they are nice people too, just their cars seem a bit shady from what ive seen thus far.

alright, just checked out the car here in Oakville at lunch. Guys were pretty nice. Lots of Audis there interestingly. About 7 different wagons including a B6 S4 in Nogaro and 3 B6 A4s, 2 B7 A4s, 1 old A6 and one Allroad.

re: the 2005 1.8T Avant in grey...

Exterior 3.5/5- bumper had paint worn off a caterpillar sized spot about 3 inches long; passenger front door trim looked bent/damaged...maybe side impact?. Probably $500-1000 to make it perfect.

Interior - 3.5/5 looked new; smelled funny...a little like puke actually. Maybe it was their cleaning products? It was bad enough that I wouldn't buy the car if it was permanent (a la 'The Beast' on Seinfeld). One thing I was concerned about was the trim...it looked weird. It was like light plastic fake carbon fibre. I don't think it was offered on the B6??? My B6 was EXACTLY like this car in every manner, however it had the nice piano black trim. This looked like B7 trim, and the replacement job wasn't a good one...the ashtray wouldn't open, and the fit/finish around the centre console/shift lever/ashtray was not good.

Wheels - 4.5/5 looked good. No serious rash. Nice 17" spoke upgraded Avant wheels. Even spare looked good (looked new actually)

Engine - I know eff all about engines, but I started it up. Battery was real weak (typical of these dealers as the cars sit around a lot). There was also a very squeaky belt under the hood. My B6 Avant had this too, and WD40 solved it. Otherwise, I didn't drive it.

The car looked like a 3-4 year old car, and inside it looked about 1 year old. It sounded about 5 years old when I started it. It smelled new...like new puke.

Overall grade without smell would be 3.5/5...the interior and exterior problems were annoying, but not big deals. The engine didn't sound sharp and that would scare me. With smell = 0/5. I'm very smell sensitive!

p.s. that was fun. I'd do it for anyone for $5-10 if it's local (to buy me some lunch and S4 gas!)

Anyone in the area feel like checking out that nogaro S4? I'm at the opposite end of the city.. I can see from the online pics that the rear bumper has been repainted but I'm wondering about general condition, interior condition and if it just had a small rear-ender or something more extensive.

I drove the Nogaro S4 back when it first showed up on trader.ca there.
It is in rough shape. More than just the rear has been resprayed, a few of the panels didn't line up right, the interior had a lot of scratch marks and was rough. An exceptional amount of stone chips on the hood. It has some weird aftermarket pedals. More importantly the engine started smelling of burning oil when I drove it hard. Its pretty much scared me off of that place. :p

just go buy one in the US from an AUDI dealership...currency at 1.07 right now

after 6.1% duty, 7% currency and $1000 to get it here ($210 fee to RIV...$100 for CanTire inspection, $690 gas money to get it here) a $20,000 USD car will cost $23,700 CDN + tax...so use a factor of 1.18 to compare

i.e. car on cars.com for 15,000 would cost $17,700 CDN+pst/gst in your driveway
