    Sputtering on Cold Start

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so here is the issue I will try to be very clear with everything....

In the mornings the car sputters for about 30 secs..... While the RPM's are high and the car is warming up..... At first I thought it was the head it was cracked and maybe droplets of water trickeld down on the piston... etc

Anyways got the head redone everything is good and boom started it up yesterday in the morning it was around 60 degs... and it sputters the check engine light blinks for about 30 secs then it is perfect..... When you go to take off its almost as if you have a huge boost leak and will almost back fire.... Once It warms up thats it... Its smooth as ever.....

    - Its not boost leak because I hold 20psi with no problem and did a test...
    - Coils packs are new

This is what I have if this helps

    - Giac FX
    - 380cc injectors
    - SAI Pump Gone

I searched and I read one thread where it said it was possibly a fuel pump or filter but I changed mine about 15K ago ( the filter )

    Thanks

60deg isn't exactly cold weather. My car runs rough for about a minute when i start it, but i'm talking in 0deg f.

I don't think hes refering to the weather when he meant a "cold start".

    Re: Sputtering on Cold Start

^^^^^^ I was actually stating the temp just to note it wasnt really cold outside.... Like up north.... Even though 60 degs is considered a COLD morning in South FL...

    Re: Sputtering on Cold Start

I thinkl it is a giac 380cc thing, mine is a little rough as well in cold and on cold strt up for a 30 sec to a min or so, same at 10 deg as at -20 deg F. I think it is a giac thing. Iam thinking of getting the unitronic or apr tune with 225TT injectors, I have heard it to be a smoother combo overall, although I know many will chime in saying otherwise, all I know is what mine does.
PARTS FOR SALE: LW Crank Pulley, OEM injectors, ABT rep grill, OEM Intercooler, PM me.

For your OEM HID D1S/D2S/D3S and HID conversion [Headlights/Foglights], and Interior/Exterior LED needs, send me a PM![/SIZE]

Mine runs rough at first for 30-60 secs and then runs fine..i'm guessing mine is due to the battery though

Thats exactly what injectors I have, They are known for doing this. But my symptoms are a little different from yours. Myne only studders for a new seconds, then everything it perfect, and my CEL is always on anyways so I don't notice. But yeah it's the injectors.

    Re: Sputtering on Cold Start

I have to agree with chadb2434. The problem is with the Bosch 380cc injectors. This has been a common complaint for years. The single cone spray just doesn't atomize well enough for a cold start. And yes, even 60 degrees can be considered a "cold" start. I have been running the Genesis 380's for several years with no issues with temperatures below 0 degrees F.The Genesis have a dual cone spray similar to the TT225's. However with that being said, the Siemens 380cc single cone spray seems to work better than the Bosch 380cc ones. Once warmed up the Bosch 380's should perform fine.

OK are the bosch 380 injectors white or black? I thiught they were black, I wonder if the giac 380 cc file works with the TT 225 injectors as well.
