I broke a stud off of my turbo when i was installing my test pipe...anyone know of a place i could get it fixed for a good price? I could do it myself but i only got limited tools and it would take a while with the crap i got. Would also be easier if there was a place with a lift i could use. Anyone got anything in mind?

Is it a stock turbo? Is the stud broken off inside the hole or is there a bit of it sticking out?

Re: Stud broke off of turbo...need help!

If the car isn't your primary transportation, I'd spray some WD40 on it, tap with a hammer to get it on all the threads, let it soak, take the turbo out, and use vice grips or something to grab the piece sticking out and get it off. This has happened to me 2x and it's a bitch. The first time, there was a piece sticking out...MUCH easier to get out than the 2nd time when it was broken off IN the hole.

As for getting a shop to get it off, can't help you there as I'm not too familiar with the local shops. Depending on the space/location, you might be able to get the thing out without taking the turbo off though...might be worth trying yourself. Just get another stud to replace.
