Everyone I talk to doesn't like it but I love it. Its so much different when you see it in person, a lot of people see pictures and don't like it but its a totally different car in person. It looks kinda wide body from behind which looks sick and you can adjust anything imaginable on the car. Im debating whether to get it for my next car or not.

This gen Evo and STi have definitely stepped things up in refinement and technology, but i'm not a fan of the newest STi apart from the rear end. I think it looks great from the rear, widebody like said above; very cool. But I don't like the rest of hte car. I was a big fan of the bugeye STi design and the design after that. 4 doors, more utilitarian than anything. This generation STi doesnt seem dedicated to solely performance with little other refining factors (which was what drew me to the others). I'm sure with mods it will be a beast and handle very well, but i'm just not the biggest fan of this design; just seems too big/bulky. I'm sure a ride in one would change my mind though

I'm not a fan of them. Subaru's old head designer who designed the bug eye the next and the next generation before this one, was a genius and saved Subaru. Then he was let go before this newest generation emerged and I think it let a lot of people down on its design, I don't know why they fired the other head of design when he seemed to be doing so well but they did, and that's that. Long story short there sick in a sense like how a slammed GTI is as well, but for a serious DD car, I don't think anyone would look at you farther than a loud kid...which sucks and that's why I'm hesitant on getting an Evo or sti.

I drove one... pretty cool car. Semi fast, and unbelievably fast (and reliable) with just a couple mods.

For me personally, no sedan, no care.

The STi has always been a sick sedan, and while the wagon looks alright, I feel they've tarnished the STi name by not even bothering with a sedan.

Those are just my thoughts though, I do understand why people like it. It makes for an awesome DD for those wanting the extra room/practicality.

But my friend slow-walked one in a bone-stock 263hp Mazdaspeed 3 which was kind of interesting... Lots of AWD drivetrain losses i'd guess.

The WRX 265's look should be the baseline for a 2010 WRX STi sedan with about 330-350hp and some tasteful appearance tweaks. Then my interest would be piqued.

I couldn't justify spending 29k on a car like that. I feel like I've grown out of the stage to be driving something like that as a daily.
Plus I enjoy my sunroof.

That's how I feel. I'm 22 and about to graduate. Do I want a racecar or a luxry people mover? I can't decide if I want to grow up yet. I'm going to check out a car auction and see what the prices are like on an Escalade and a Yukon Denali.

get an evo x. It's faster and meaner looking imo, not to mention that new dual sequential clutch thing is fucking ridiculous. I know what you mean about the new yukons or escalades, personally I would never buy the yukon, I like the tahoe more and the escalade is overpriced pretty cheaply made and around here, pretty much only douches drive them. I did see an esv one that was pretty tempting though, it was burgandy had all the packages and 22's; it had 23k on the clock was on 07' and they wanted 33k for it!!! I would have lowered it a tad flat black rims and flat black out al the chrome trim, that thing would have been sick, but lets face it 100% useless...an Sti or evo will be more fun and will have MUCH better re-sale.

To the OP, on the same site, I spent a couple hours looking through the vast majority of pictures. I came to the realization that it looks sick with a nice drop, and wide ass tires. However, you're right, it still has that boy racer image attached to it. Can't beat the power and the versatility of the hatchback though. Subaru dealers are discounting those heavily -- some on the STI forums have reported getting $8k knocked off the price tag. Many have paid well under $30k for a brand new car off the lot. It's worth a shot, but you may get tired of it after a couple thousand miles.
