In a tight spot and need some advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Was out with some friends last night at a local bar and somehow someone snuck off with my coat which of course had my car keys in it. I bought my
S4 used and it only came with one key. So . . . . any ideas on what I am up against from a time/cost perspective? Being a Sunday the local dealership is closed so I can't do much about it today I doubt.

How quickly can Audi get me a new key?

How much are they going to stick me for?

Any thoughts or previous experience would be much appreciated.

yea key fobs arent cheap (probably 150?). if i were u id contact the person u bought it from and see if they do have an extra or something. my b5 came with both key fobs, valet, plastic emergency, and some strip. and my car is 8 years old

That sucks!!....You better holler at the dude you bought the car from and tell him to try and track down the spare key/tag ID or something...... for all you know he, or one of his friends were at the bar last night and jacked your shit! Keep an eye on that car man.
Spare key is about $200 or less.
    Good luck.

Buy a new key...once the new key is programmed to your immobilizer the other key will no longer work.....the unlock/lock might still possibly work unless they dealer programs the remote part in the adaption value that your old key was in....dealer can get a key in a couple of days

i too had only 1 key that was lost. however i still had the remote, just the switchblade separated. had to give my vin and registration info to the dealer w/ id.. they ordered the new blade only for $64 or so.... then it was another $55 to program. parts guy told me that it was a good idea since i only had 1 key to buy a second key so i did.. wasnt a remote or anything, just a reg key and they cut that one right then and there.. i prob had to wait 2-3 days to get the blade they ordered. had my car towed to the dealer (via AAA) and the programming took less than a half hour and i now had 2 keys. total cost for both keys and the programming was somewhere in the ballpark of $180 and i was out of a car for 3-4 days.. get that second key... give it to someone you trust...
