anyone tried.... boost guage mounting

I have seen a lot of threads on mounting boost guages on here. Has anyone tried seating their boost guage in the indention to the right of instrument cluster? I was think about cutting a semi circle on the dash right where the dash rises for the the cluster and seating the guage half in and out of the dash. To cover the top of the guage I was going to use molded plastic or CF on the top on the guage. I think it would be different and good looking. Just fishing for opinions or experience.

Not sure where you mean -- on top of dash vs. "1/2 in"?

I prefer analog dial, but I'm thinking about this approach if/when I go "stage 3" -- though on driver side of e-flasher, where my biz card drawer is (now used for ipod connect):

If you look at your dash the part when the rise starts for the instrument cluster, right in that little curved area where it starts the incline.
