    Highway rally or backroad rally????

    I vote for the latter...

    My suggestions
    Route 1

    Route 2
08 Passat wagon 2.0T 6MT (APR Stage I, DriverGear-Eibach springs, Bilstein Sport, Euro smoked tails, intake, ATE Premium One rotors, Hawk HPS, Tyrolsport Caliper Guide Bushings, other stuff)

    Previous Cars:
02 Golf TDI 5MT (Chipped, Bosio PP764 nozzles, VNT-17, Shine Racing suspension, S3 strut brace, WRD rear strut brace)
    88.5 Camry V6 5MT
    84 Corolla 3AT (the FWD version, hand-me-down)

UG, I like Route 2, also enjoy the Highway parts way more (maybe because i'm on stock suspension & underpowered) but hell, what do I know?

Re: Royal Flush Rallies: First Rally of the New Year- May 2009

Both Routes are ok. Route would be great but no need to go down LONG MEADOW RD. Then back up 17A past all the Police! Sloatsburgh and Tuxedo Cops SUCK!!! And i don't think the rt. 106 will be open by then. Still got road closed, fixing the bridge

I prefer back roads (and Sussex Co has plenty of them)... but I am on stock suspension.... with reasonable power from chip/intake/exhaust.

There is a third route I know that is a decent compromise between back roads & highway.... from Rte 23, it takes you to west milford then up and down Skyline Dr (decent curves and a giant hill to climb)

    Route 3

or... swing by kneel's neck of the woods and pass another gov't installation....
    Route 4

Last years rallies took us south and northeast. I think we are going to be heading west for this one. Im always open for ideas everyone. It will be another month or so before we start driving possible routes so perhaps we can all meet up one night and discuss.

The DWG national rec area has some good roads.

Back when I lived in the DWG area, and my TDI....I used to have a couple of routes I regularly drive for fun...

We could start at the Rockaway Mall and head west into Pa. Up thru the state park area and roads. Then finish off at High Point.

Fava knows all those roads out there. Plus we can get some PA people involved in the Rally too. More people + more cars = more CHARITY!

Re: Royal Flush Rallies: First Rally of the New Year- May 2009

    UPDATE:

    Route:

I like the ideas everyone. I would like to incorporate High Point Mountain in this rally, because its a very fun road to drive.

    We want our participants involved!

The May 2009 rally is going to benefit a charity organization that helps with Autism.

    How you can help...

    1. Organizations- If you have a charity in mind feel free to mention them as a potential beneficiary. The organization must directly deal with helping Autism by means of either research, funding research, autism schools etc.

    2. Slogans- As many of you are aware we incorporate a slogan in our rallies that signify the underlining purpose. Past examples include:

Rally for Wishes (Benefited Make-a-Wish Foundation)
Cruise for Cancer (Benefited American Cancer Society)

    Any ideas for slogans?

As always we want to get our participants involved as much as possible. Without you there wouldn't be a rally. We would like to thank all of your support by using your ideas in our events.

More information to come in the near future!

I think i'm going to have to get in this.

Im persuing studying autism and work with many kids on the spectrum.

The route up to high point is a great one. LEss cops than coming over 17A (tuxedo) though the mountains in to Warwick and then out to high point is a great run. We just cant speed through some parts.

    I came up with...

Joey here is that event i was talking about. Not that we would have to do the event in October, but something to think about. It's at a huge park, with lots of parking, and maybe we could turn it into a Cruise/Car show???

This is the one my wife deals with. She is currently getting me more info from the parents of the kids she works with. Plus all the money donated goes directly to things parents and children with Atism, need.

What do you guys think of this route?

    Option 1

This will incorporate Highways, Twisties, and Country Roads...

The drive up High Point Mountain is tons of fun and the end location i have as an option is excellent...

Joey and i were talking about those roads today. That could work but also trying to keep it on mainly 2laned roads. But a run up over 17a and back out to Rt17 would be sick.

Like the route, wouldn't mind seeing I-84 incorporated somehow, that's a sweet stretch of highway/scenery into PA, also would bring us right to the base of HighPoint... the 2-lane side going up too.

84 is a great road, i also love the drive up highpoint mountain... so much fun.

We are working ideas around. The route i posted may or may not be the final route of the rally. We should have a final route posted by the beginning of April. More details about the charity organization, date, end location etc will be posted as soon as possible.

84 is a two-lane highway, super smooth pavement with rolling hills.

Backside of HighPoint is 2 lanes going up to monument, 1 lane going down.
