    GIAC installed boooooost

Hey I got my ECU with the flashed GIAC and man the difference is awesome. The only mods I have done are the darin intake but with the drop in filter, short shifter and power gaskets. How much of a difference do the piggies make? I know she needs to breath better just looking at my next too do thing.

Yea the GIAC chip is awesome. The piggies will probably help a bit but I can't tell you for sure.

Don't stress too much about the whole intake deal. The stock airbox is good enough, and there is no major proof that an intake is actually worthwhile. Stick with the drop in filter and your good to go. The regular Giac flash should give you about 25-30 more CHP, and if you eventually opt for the bigger injector file, maybe another 10 CHP more. Good luck and congrats

    Re: GIAC installed boooooost

Wait do you have the 2.8 or the 2.7T? If you have the latter you will get a lot more than 25-30 CHP out of the flash.

I have the 2.7T--GIAC states 65 hp on 93 octane pump gas--the question was about the PIGGIES (downpipes)

    Re: GIAC installed boooooost

Piggies... They will reduce back presure, quicker spool time, reduce EGTs, maybe some gas milage with less restriction. They are nice. Also, they can help preserve the life of the turbos with cooler temps and less pressure...

And my 2.8 would only yield 10 CHP and 10 CFT.LBS with GIAC.

If you want a more open intake, add this to your darintake.

to answer your question (depending on what you mean by "piggies") -- figure around 20 hp from upgraded downpipes (VAST, APR are leaders) or you could gut stock, ie remove pre-cats, cats and go without, or put in free-flow cats). Or you could buy my gutted OEMs (if you have 6 sp MT). Watch out for oil with intake drop-ins.

are you in Charleston proper? Have good friend in your area, so I get there from time to time (he's south about 20 minutes, but we go to a bar downtown for oysters -- I'm sure you know which one!)

    Re: GIAC installed boooooost

it would be a good idea to get new OEM coilpacks and plugs, if you still have original ones in. , after you chip it , also , you should have exhaust/piggies, Diverter valves and TBB....im waiting for Waterfest next year to get my car flashed, all i have left is the piggies, and im good to go, also, with the Intake , i got the AWE S-Flo, yeah its $200, and alot of people say its just a bunch of bullshit, which more than likely its is, but soon as i installed it on my car, i could fell the car being a bit smoother and it feels a bit stronger on spool up , but yeah you can tell a little bit. if you dont want to spend $200 bones, just get a new OEM or K/N filter, prolly do the same.

Hardware: Plugs need slightly different gap for GIAC's A-F mix, but I don't think coils need to be replaced (Frank - am I ignorant about something here?). Just DV and TB to be safe. Stock air is fine, you don't "need" to change. I, too, have s-flo and was warned against drop-in filter (oil in MAF) and holes (air temp, limited effect)

Yeah man I am kinda a freak when it comes to my cars. I have infact removed the spare vacuumed the area and buffed and waxed it so there is def no sticker. 3rd Audi I have had and cant find a code in the door jams, eng comp, or trunk. But I ordered a toronado red trunk lip spoiler and it matched pretty good so I am guessing it is LY3D(toronado red).
