Most of you know that I threw in an iva-w505 but here come the speaker/amp upgrades:
    - jl 13tw5 + jl 500/1v2 (single best thing you could do to improve you audio experience)
    - jl c5-650 components for the front (well defined mids) + jl 300/4v2 to power those + my rear speakers (factory still sound great)

    Pics:

    sub (very clean install):

    amps:

    iva-w505 (+imprint, +blackbird):

Well, I had this professionally installed, the enclosure was made from polyglass I believe. Nevertheless, it's a very tight install, it took them a day just to work it in there but it was time well spent :)

By the way - you can change the color scheme to red on the main display but the LEDs remain blue - i initially thought this would be a big issue but it just isn't. I'll post pics with the display as red to give you an idea.

Yeah - the installer was actually keen about this since they knew the trim on the factory panel actually screws off so it was easy for them to transfer it.

Re: audio/speaker upgrade (sub, front speakers)

can you ask your installer if they would be interested in making another one of those faceplates and shipping it to me? I bought one of the generic ones with the ring aorund it, and i reallllly want a one-piece deal like that with the metal trim.

Re: audio/speaker upgrade (sub, front speakers)

Nice choice on the sub - I would love to hear how one of those things sounds.....I have my sub (JL 10w7) and my 500/1 in exactly the same places as you. I personally love it, but people who aren't used to bass think it overbears the stock speakers, which at times, it does.

The slimmer sub you chose makes me wish I would've pawned my w7 and picked up that since it's easier to fit an enclosure into that cubbyhole. I had to pay a pretty penny for them to cram a giant sub like the w7 into that space.

Yes - the enclosure requirements for the 13-TW5 are quite minimal. Also, I agree, the sub will overbear on the stock speakers, that's why I added the front speakers which are really great and complement the sub.

How much space do you have to the side of the two amps. I'd like to install mine in a similar fashion, but I've got the 1000/1 and 450/4.
