    Back N Got a few ?'s for the 04 S4MT I Jus Got

    Hey Guys,

Its been awhile but i about two years ago I had a B6A4 and now Im back with a fresh 04 S4 MT. I never was the biggest poster but I can definitely vouch for spending countless hours on the forums here learning all sorts of things. I try to do a lot myself but at a certain point I do turn things over to the shop.

The car is a CPO S4 MT in Silver with 62k and its all stock besides PSS9 Coilovers. I plan on doing Tint, Exhaust, Short Throw, 19's or 20's and other little parts I can find used locally.

    Few quick questions:

    1. The car needs a front end alignment I assume CPO would not cover that or any assosciated parts correct? Are there any parts I should look to replace to tighten up the steering again. ( not thats its loose just hypothetically sayin). I'm a little hestitant to bring the car to a place like STS for the alignment since its lowered , thoughts on that?

    2. I have the well known cold start issue and read its covered under CPO so i am calling the dealer on monday to hope they are aware of the problem with the starter.

    3. When stopped and i rev the engine starting around 16-1700 Rpms and diminishing around 21-2200 Rpms a rumble occurs I cannot seem to centralize where its coming from. Is it the exhaust possibly in combination with being lowered? Powerband and Drivetrain feels great despite the rumble.

    4. Any locals knowing any good shops or on the side tech people they could recommend is highly appreciated along with the regular GTGs

Looking forward to getting myself back to a true enthusiast

    Thanks Nick

1.) If your car is lowered and you wish to have a 100% alignment, I would recc. picking up the adjustable control arms from PureMs.

    2.)GL w/ the dealer

3.)V8 power maybe?! IONO could have something to do with your cold start issue. Once again you have CPO...just report it to the dealer(hopefully you go to a good one) and let them deal with it.

    4.)I'm not local, sorry.

    Enjoy,

    -B

I had the cold start problem as well. It's usually just the starter solenoid but the dealership won't fix just the solenoid, they say they'll only replace the starter which can be rediculously expensive. I got the part number and found a solenoid online for around 80$. I took it to my friend at audi and they replaced it no problem. If they won't fix the starter for you I would try to find a solenoid somewhere and have them install it, might save you some time at the dealership.

    1. Find a good alignment shop that specializes in european cars. There are a few shops up here in Northern Jersey that i know who i can recommend to you if you are interested.

    2. CPO should cover your cold start issue.

    3. Sounds like something on the exhaust might be loose. Check all hangers and exhaust clamps.

    4. If your willing to come to Northern NJ i can recommend one of the best mechanics in NJ. Pm me if your interested.

Yeah Joey, that elite motors guy sami, I read up on the other thread you posted about how great his work is, after i get the dealership work done, I will definitely give him a call, my only question is should i wait till i get my new rims instead of having it adjusted on the stocks, Im also thinking i might want to have him adjust the ride height. Right now it sits with just less then one finger between tire and fender, I would like it directly at the tire or possibly just tucked, but I do not want to rub
