Manual Boost Controller

Ok, so I have done a good bit of research and have found a vast difference of price on MBCs. The Hallman MBC seams to be the best quality and comes with a nice in cabin control. JHM sells this for $165 plus shipping and the cheapest I have found this is for $129 on an Evo site http://store.jdm-spec.com/haevbocokit.html. I am also running GIACX and will be eliminating my N75 valve.

NXS makes a cheap ($15) that can hold up to 24psi and will do the trick (I am assuming).

Hallman Pro.

Best MBC you can get. All the Evo guys use it. I had that on my evo. Use it now on the S4.

Actually have a spare one sitting around, doesnt have the in cabin control tho. PM me if you want it

When it comes to MBC's I believe that quality is all relevant. I dunno i cant see spending 140-170 on a MBC. Although it is nice to have it IN CAR especially if you do alot of street racing. I dunno thats just my .02 cents

I have the Jhm one and it is the goods!! one of my freinds have had proplems with there vast mbc i think that they are cheap looking that one on ebay looks cheap also. Jhm motorsports offers top of the line products, go with you gut bro! thanks for the post

I vote for JHM. I wouldn't trust the cheap ones. If it breaks you can be stranded somewhere and possible do damage to the motor if it stops controlling boost.

Just curious, is it necessary to leave all that slack? When I installed my Vast MBC, i just put it into the current/stock hoses. They are a lot smaller than the ones you pictured.

That "slack" is a cable that goes into the cabin so you can adjust the boost with a knob.

i've heard a lot of people say that they had trouble holding more than 18psi to redline, or even after the spike, on k04's...

get the hallman, you dont HAVE to get the in-cabin. being cheap doesnt always pay off.

Not true. I've run this MBC on plenty of Stage 3 cars and have never heard of an issue from any of my customers.

Fair enough. People's experiences with different products vary. That's just the nature of the beast.
