Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've tried to remove my headlamps - ones out withput a problem, but the other plug didn't disconnect, instead it lulled all the wires through from inside the housing.

So instead of the plug disconnecting like this:-

    It looks like this:-

I've tried seperating the two but can't seem to do it now. Does anyone know how to do it?

    Thanks in advanance.

Re: HELP! Accident with headlamp plug

I really wish they would have used the metal clip connections everywhere instead of these crappy plastic release ones that get stuck all the time. What you need to do is insert a small screw-driver into the opposite side of the plug that you would normaly press down to release and pop the clip up. It will come right off with little force. It looks like you already tried to seperate it but you need to have that clip released before it will budge.

Then just epoxy the connector back into the light.

Sorry to sound stupid, but I don't know what you mean. I can't seem to dislodge it at all. Can you talk me through it a little more?

See the circled area, that is the clip/lock that holds the connectors together. You need to put a small screwdriver in it and press the screwdriver toward the connector and then pull on the connecters.

That's fantastic thanks. I've followed your instructions and it's worked a treat . Was very tight though and didn't come out that easily, but it's out!

    Thanks again

Re: HELP! Accident with headlamp plug

yup, best way to remove them is to push and hold the plug in the closed direction, then insert screwdriver into the release and twist it. just pull up on the plug and it'll come right off.

Damaged harness connectors should be replaced with new.
