    Exhaust for Cabs?

Do exhausts made for sedans fit the Cab? If not, who makes a Cab specific exhaust?

    Re: Exhaust for Cabs?

The Milltek exhausts (which I have on my Cab) are forward compatible - will work on sedans and avants. I was told by Stratmosphere that they only stock the Cab exhausts because of this.

    Custom is the other option.

do you have any audio / video with the Milltek? Which Milltek do you have? Can you describe the difference (top up / top down) and is there any drone?

They look to be universal for the B6, but not for the B7. I am looking for B7 Cab options if anyone knows of any.

I got the non-res. Had the same in my sedan and loved it. Surpisingly, it is not that loud with the top up (good ole Audi insulated top).

I just had it put on when Strat had their sale, so hadn't had a chance to drop the top yet.

I don't experience drone and I do drive on the highway for good stretches. I would definitely recommend this over the resondated. It's acutally a little quiet for me as is, so maybe piggies in the future.

Tubi is big bucks, but very nice - aren't they located here in Michigan?

    Re: Exhaust for Cabs?

I have had a resonated Milltek on my S4 Cab with downpipes for about three years. There are times I wish I had non-res, but the resonated has a very nice sound that is not offensive to business associates/spouse. If I did not care about appearing too boy-racerish to others, then I would definitely get the non-res.

With my setup, top up at idle is barely louder than stock. Top down at idle is a soft rumble that is definitely not stock but not very loud either. Top up at WOT is great; but top down at WOT is absolute bliss. At freeway speeds there is some drone, but definitely not obnoxious.

I don't know about racer-boyish, but that is why we have another SUV to take clients in. The Cab is a weekend toy... if you wanted something for looks only, you should have just thrown on some Vibrant tips.

    Re: Exhaust for Cabs?

I think you misunderstood--it is the sound I am referring to as racy, not the looks. My cab is my work vehicle, SUV, and minivan all rolled into one, so I have to compromise a bit more than someone using the car as a weekend toy. That is what I love about the car--it can do anything.

    Re: Exhaust for Cabs?

I have a resonated AWE exhaust, no downpipes on my S4 Cab and its great and sounds great. I would not want it any louder. Attracts enough attention as it is and if it were any louder it would not be tolerable.

    my 2 cents.

Yes it is very versatile. What I was suggesting is that the res exhaust is too quiet and the only reason to get it is for the larger tips. To each his/her own...

I don't think Milltek (res or no-res) sounds "ricey" though. I have had Tanabe on my Prelude - that was ricey. Had an APR also on my USP (stealth exhaust) and it was just that, stealthy - a little louder than stock, just like a Milltek res.
