Squeaky Noise

hey guys so the belt in the front, which looks like it controls the fan is making a funny noise. Its not really loud but its a squeaky noise and goes away after i drive for about 10-15 mins (engine warms up). Does this mean it needs to be changed?

also what does that belt do/ name of the belt?

It is the Accessory belt and it runs many thing such as, AC, Power steering, and as you have seen, the Fan. It is probably one of the bearings on one of the items I have mentioned. There is a pretty good chance that 9 years of sediment, grease, or other contaminants have just gotten in there. You might have some luck just spraying WD40 in between the pulley and the accessory. Most likely though you would be best advised to take the belt off and turn each pulley by hand and feeling which one has resistance or squeaks, and you would go from there.
