Idle and Tranny ?Question?

Well everyone knows that S4 idle a little over 700 RPMs right?

I just got my car back from doing a complete tranny replacement after the original went kaboom, and now the car idles a 1000 rpm. What can I do to fix that? Does it have to do with the transmission?

Wow that is a little weird. Does everything work the way it should? The one thing that comes to mind is either through vag com they changed the idle, or they adjusted the idle torque. You would need to get on a vag com and see what the values are.

yeah, there are values in VAG that can be reset... I would contact 3zero3 and ask if there is a reason the tranny is idling at 1000... maybe there is a reason

have u let the car warm up. cause on cold days or cold starts the idle is higher than normal until it starts to warm up. idle is supposed to be at 800, u can change it thru lemi but id contact the people who did the work first

Guys thanks for the inputs. Problem solved I brought it back to the shop and they saw that when the engine was lowered to swap the trans one of the wastegate valves was broken off. They replaced it and it is fixed. Car is Amazing now and my Torque converter Cel is GONE.

who did your work on your car? I blew my tip trans and and sent it out to 517 trans for a rebuild, and I hope to have it back this week, the stock internals did not like the 400 + WTQ going threw it orginaly . After the trans is broken in I am going to have the car retuned for more WHP and WTQ,

the link above is the contact infor for the shop. ask for Sam, He know's the trans well,
Mine is going to be over 3000.00 but under 4000.00 due to extra parts needed and shipping it, 517/Sam has a shipping compainy that will pick up and drop off the trans.
Give him a call or E-mail, When all is done the trans should hold 450 WTQ with no problems, I hope to have my car up and running this week, PM and I will give you more info
