    omori boostt gauge install

i did a write up on the b6 diy turbo timer but cant for the life of me wire this gauge up, instructions seem a little confusing. says as follows verbatum,...

    1. Red: 12V Ignition Switch
    2. Green: Battery +
    3. White: 12V Dash Lighting (please note that if you prefer the backlight to appear whenever the ignition is on, connect this wire to the 12V Ignition Switch")
    4. Black: Vehicle Ground

obviously know where the black goes. but im confused with the green, white and red? would green go to the lower distribution block...black to the fuse box ground and red to the headlight switch?

I would wire the red and green together to something that is switched on/off with your ignition. As for the white wire, run that to the dimmer positive so that your gauge dims at the same time as the rest of your lights. Black is obviously grounded.

I actually did the same Gauge on my car. I used the ashtray light as the signal for the dimmer, But i do not remember how I did it.

im going to try and set aside the time to do a boost gauge install diy. i connected the green and red together to the distribution block, the white i connected to the grey/blue striped wire behind the headlight switch and the black ground to the bolt outside of the fuse box. i will be adding a resistor to the white wire. the light of the gauge is way too bright

    Re: omori boostt gauge install

Here may be the easies way I found,

for the 12 V constant + get from one of the poles under the drivers side lower panel, they are all constant +
-for the light dim feed, pull out the light sitch and find the grey with blue sripe, tap into it, it will feed the same signal as the dash lights so it will dim with the dash, if you find the lights too brite on the gauge you can istall a resistor inline to dull it a little.
-for the ign on, I opened the fuse box and taped into the power feed to the garage door opener circuit (homelink) I think the wires were red with black stripe, just follow the fuse guide, I think it is the one closest to you when you have the rear cover off.
the ground can be done anywhere, there are factory spots on the drivers side behind the dash panel, or behind the kick panel, I prefer to use factory grounding points.

If you connect the gauge 12v+ and ign + together there will always be a small drain on the batt, so better to have the ign on + connected seperate.

    Re: omori boostt gauge install

After a week straight of working on my car I'm done for the night. I'll take the red(12v ignition) and the green (12v ignition) and try and find a spot for the red. I don't have homelink visor. Where else can I tap into a 12v ignition? And where are the factory grounds located under in relation to the red distribution wires underneath?
