Question AWE Brake Kit, please let me know!!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok, so I have a few of questions regarding the S4 Brake Overhaul Kit from AWE. I have searched and found nothing on the complete kit, so I want to hear from my fellas here on the zine.

    1) Is the kit worth the money.

    2) Is it worth $80 more dollars for the HAWK pads over the MINTEX.

    3) Is there something else at this cost which I should consider.

Any and all constructive comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: AWE Brake Kit, please let me know!!!!

when you refering to the AWE kit you mean the one that comes with front and rear rotors pads and lines??
if so i personally dont like it.
Its a great kit but i should of just saved a little more and brought Stop tech or something similar.
Ive had it on my car for over a year now and when i mounted them on the brakes where making noise and it took about 5K miles before the noise went away. I spoke to AWE and they said i didn't break them in right and i should maybe try to drive backwards to shave the pads a little.
Dont get me wrong i think AWE is a great company i personally would of saved a little and when with a better kit.

Re: AWE Brake Kit, please let me know!!!!

I got mine from AWE back in 2006 when it included DBA rotors instead of powerslot. I got the mintex red-box pads with mine and theyve treated me great. Yeah there was a little squeeking at first but i didnt put any anti seize on the back of the pads to try to stop it. I just threw em on after school one day. I use them pretty agressively on the streets and autox with them. No real complaints yet

Its a great kit but its expensive and you CAN have a comparable product for less money. I dont regret buying it, so i guess it was worth it for me.

To be honest i would get the hawk pads if i were buying again. But theres nothing wrong with the mintex pads, hawks are just more agressive.
