Hey guys, I'm going to be plasti-dipping my valence tomorrow. I'm not sure how to take it off the car and I don't really have time to search at the moment. Thanks for the help!

Also, if i want to adjust my exhaust tips, is it as simple as unbolting the the little clip that seems to be holding them there are repositioning?

if you look underneath the middle of the bumper, you'll see two screws you have to take off. after that... just start pulling from the edge of one side and work your way to the other

yep what he said, 2 screws under the bumper then just pull towards you, theres nothing really to break, those clips are pretty sturdy

    Re: Removing Valence

fyi you might think it won't pop out but it will, just use force until it does, when its going back it put it in until you are positive it won't go further, same thing when putting it back on

    Re: Removing Valence

I am to lazy to take a picture of mine. But it will look pretty much exactly like the non-sline unpainted valence. But more black instead of grey (but not dark black).

    How do I know?

Well:) When I first bought my non-sline I decided I wanted the valance body color. Then I decided I wanted it back to stock. But when I stripped the paint, I couldn't get the factory finish to look perfect again. So I just painted it with Plasti-Dip and it came out great. Now I think I want it gloss black, so I am going to try the PlastiDip clear over it and see what happens.

Oh and a piece of advice. Spray it on thick. But not to thick so it runs. But you want it to look "wet and shiny" after each coat. Don't think of it as spray paint (which I goofed up on the first time).

    Re: Removing Valence

Not to long. But I let mine sit overnight, remember you have to use some pressure to put the valence back on, so even though it might feel dry you could marr it.

    Re: Removing Valence

one of my rear valence clips (the 2 things that screw on with torx screws) is broken and the other just about broken. Anyone know how to attach new ones? I understand the bottom, but the top part where it attaches to the car makes me think I have to pull the rear bumper (and I dont want to)

I just replaced my valence yesterday with a new stock unpainted one and it was a quick and easy job. From what I saw, you should be able to reuse the clips even if they got detached from the bumper, since the screw is what really holds it in place anyway.
