What Is This???

Don't have any pictures yet, noticed this on my way to work today. There seems to be an ethernet cable or something of that sort sticking out of the ceiling inside my Avant, right next to the rearview mirror. It seems to have popped out from "carpet" or whatever you call it on the roof of the inside of the car. I don't know how to better describe it, I just need to get some pics up. If you know what this is though, let me know what I should do with it. I tried sticking it back in the roof, but it doesnt seem to want to fit. I just bought the car about a month and a half ago, so maybe it's been like this the whole time and I've just never noticed it. It's not very noticeable at all. My only guess is for the Satellite, cause its a USP Avant with RNS-E Nav.

That is a possibility. Although the cord that is sticking out is out maybe an inch, if that, not 4-6 inches like in that picture. But it's possible. I'll try and get pics up by tomorrow. Thanks for the reply!

you can pull it out. I am 90% sure that that is for the radar detector. If you can trace the cable, you might be able to find the hardwire kit around the fuse panel or sunroof switch.

Sorry it took me so long, been really busy with school and work. But here are a couple of pictures of what I was talking about. Hopefully you can give me a for sure answer and tell me how to at least hide it. If it is the Radar Detector cord, I don't want to pull it out just in case I do buy a Valentine some day.

Definitely a hardwire cable for a radar detector. I wired mine and pulled the headliner and can tellyou that there is nothing stock on the car that is like that. Looks like it could be for a V1... I have mine wired to the other side of the mirror and it only hangs down about that much.

If you take a phillips screwdriver and remove that little third sun visor above the mirror you can pull down the headliner and tuck it away. You may not even need to remove the screw, it's a pretty flexible backing to the headliner.
