Problem with trunk opening and closing HELP

My trunk on my 2000 s4 has a hug problem closing and opening. The lock mechanism and latch is fine. It pops open and i have to pull super hard till it gets all the way open. To close it I have to push really hard down. I thought it was shocks, but I bought two sets now, one of which are brand new. Still does it. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have picso the hinges/shocks. I tried the shocks both ways to in case it mattered.

the fitting bushings or whatever you want to call them that the hinges rotate on arent screw in or anything. How do you seperate them to grease them? That is the only issue I thin kit can be. I tried silicone spray and chain lube and moving the trunk to work it threw and didnt do much if anything.

Strange, lubrication should do it...make sure you are spraying all 1 million of the hinges that move as the trunk opens/closes and just keep working it.

I used white lithium grease to help the hinges stay lubed...but silicone spray should def. get everything freed up..

There is a certain degree of stiffness I think that is normal, but I don't think it should be a struggle...not sure.

my brothers a4 trunk moves very freely while mine is really tough. If anyone can take a pic of their hinges I would appreciate it. I want to make sureit wasnt repainted over causing the stiffness etc.
