    bad MAF = esp?

This problem started happening for about 2 weeks now. Every time I drive the car the esp light comes on after a few miles, and resets if I start the car only to reappear again and so on. A few times while squeezing into a parking space the abs along with the esp light both went on. There is no check engine light. Its been really cold here in ny for the past weeks so maybe that has something to do with it. I've read other posts referring to similar problem and there appears to be some linkage between the MAF and ESP. I ordered a new bosch MAF element for about 99$ and since I already have the 5 point hex needed to remove this thing it shouldn't be that difficult. I'm just curious if any members here think it might have something to do with the colder air, or do you guys have this similar problem in warmer areas as well. Thanks

FWIW, my MAFS was acting strangely, needed to be replaced, and never triggered the ESP light. Lots of CELs, though.
