Bigger (taller) Front bumper. Any out there?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a 2000 A6 2.7t.

Last summer I installed RS6 IC. As you can see The RS6 IC are a bit larger than stock.

My probelm is the bottom of the IC hits the bottom of my bumper (creating a dimple) and the top part of the IC pushes against my Ballast forcing my headlights to point down a little.

Its obvious I need a little bit bigger of a bumper atleast taller. Do I have any options?

Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Either of something aftermarket or some way i can mod my existing bumper. thanks!

There's a reason why the rs6's bumpers are bigger. You should of just went with the AWE IC's.

Thanks for stating the obvious. ;)

Figured I would try something new that I had not seen on a C5 A6. And since these have RS4 end caps I thought maybe they wouldn't be as tall.

If I can't get it to work I'll prob trade them for different IC's

    Any A6's here running RS6 IC's?

LLTek, and I think others, sell an RS6 replica front bumper designed for the narrow body pre-facelift. Not sure how much more room it has, but I'm sure you could contact them for more info.

Thanks I wasn't aware of that bumper. But at $1000+ ouch. I'd rather Buy ER IC's if I could find them for that price.

I think I might be better looking into modding the existing bumper for now.

You might want to mod your existing bumper.
If that does not work and you go with another IC let me know and I might want to buy them from you for my allroad.

Allroad front bumper on a sedan? Add painted allroad fender flairs and that could be a good looking project.

Anything is possible. I do not know the details, but fabrication would probably be required. I have heard it discussed before, but never heard a final conclusion or seen one attempted. It does sound interesting though.

I like to stray from the norm! Looking into it now.

Etka shows the same part number for the hood on a 2001 Allroad and a 2000 A6 v6. I didn't compare to other years. So the Allroad bumper should line up with the hood just fine. The fenders were different part numbers, not sure how the bumper would line up as the allroad has the flairs.
